#CLST6 so excited to share my #project4 with all of you. For my project I both reconstructed (images below) and researched a ring from the tomb of the Griffin Warrior in Pylos. The ring is evidence of how Mycenaeans were heavily influenced by Minoan religion and art. /1

#clst6 For this #rr19, I took a virtual walk through my neighborhood in Miami Beach. On a virtual tour of my neighborhood back home, I would think that a lot of the material culture found would contribute to evidence of sea-level rise.

@ulgenCLST6 #CLST6 #FinalLookCloser Really excellent thread, Ulgen! I didn't realize Icarus was tied to Minos. I also found myself fascinated by our ancestors' ability to build enormous palaces/estates so long ago. That's why my thread was on Hadrian's villa in Tivoli.

#CLST6 #LookCloser10 Before we were all trapped in our housees, I was lucky enough to visit the excavation of the Domus Aurea It serves as a perfect example of the complexity of stratigraphy, a massive building covered by projects of later emperors

#CLST6 #FinalLookCloser From Minoan to Classical Hellenistic to Etruscan art...it's hard to decide on a fav artifact. It may be the Nilotic scene I focused on for #Project3--I liked how each detail spoke volumes. I also love Trajan's Column (as you can tell from my profile pic).

#CLST6 This is also one of my favorite monuments! For my #FinalLookCloser, I investigated the House of the Vettii for very similar reasons - the mural paintings are absolutely stunning. For instance, the Pentheus Room showcases what is likely later stage Fourth Style art [1].

#CLST6 #LookCloser10 While perusing through one of the image libraries, I came across a sculpture of Antinous. This cast me back to the reading I had completed on Trajan and Hadrian's architectural styles, that contained an interesting section on how Hadrian deified Antinous.

#CLST6 #RR21 One of the topics that we covered earlier in this class that stood out to me the most was the representation and uses of narrative in the Greek and Roman art we were studying. I believe their styles of narrative is very relevant to art and expression today.
