I was so fortunate to see 125 (!!) shows this year, & despite all the heaviness in the world, seeing so much brilliant theatre keeps me afloat. So I want to celebrate that with a little top 10 shows of the year.

I’m begging anyone setting out to write a piece of theatre about a historical woman to give her an actual personality beyond being a /headstrong woman raging against the system/ because if that is her only discernible trait you are doing her as much disservice as history has.

Today I cling to the impossibly vital notion that there are still people in this world making beautiful things. There is still theatre and music and stories and art showcasing how much love and light somehow endures on and on and on. May we find it in ourselves to do the same.
