FYI our current strategies for navigating this as a former ski prodigy (him) and a skied-two-times-ever-before-tearing-ACL (me) are as follows:
- he skis with my dad (bonding)
- I develop freakishly strong leg muscles and snowboard instead
@flawedaxioms Some of the courses are structured as a series of guest lectures/guest-led discussions. This is not the norm unless you're in the GSB, but it's common enough, and these courses are reasonably accessible to students if they know where to look, though obv with enrollment caps etc.
Calibration requires being at least a little weird for a while. The less we restrict the scope of that weirdness the more effectively and efficiently we calibrate.
