@jasonllevin@tullman YES!!! Somebody's gotta stand up for themselves. To accept would diminish everything they just achieved. When some title-winning teams' members wouldn't go when Obama was in office, no one said a mumblin' word. HOLD YOUR HEADS UP.
Djimon Hounsou arrived in Paris from Benin 🇧🇯 at the age of 13 with his brother, they couldn't find work and ended up sleeping under bridges and searching for food in garbage 🗑 bins . A chance meeting with a photographer led to an introduction to fashion designer Thierry Mugler, who encouraged Hounsou to pursue a modeling career. In 1987, he became a model and established a career in Paris. He moved to the United States in 1990, began appearing in music videos wasn’t long after that he made his film debut in Without You I'm Nothing (1990) and then was cast as Cinqué in 1997 Steven Spielberg film Amistad, Hounsou received wide critical acclaim and a Golden Globe Award nomination for the role. He gained further notice as Juba in the 2000 film Gladiator. Today Djimon is one of the widely known actors in Hollywood and through it all he remains humble and never forgets where he comes from.
@CLG98264897 I went home for lunch, no cafeteria until high school. Then we went to the greasy french fry place and played Spades!! Only Momma's mashed potatoes were consumed...
Six years later, the pain of losing George Floyd still echoes across this nation. His death forced America to confront painful truths about policing, accountability, and the value of Black lives in this country.
George Floyd should still be here. His family should still have their brother, father, and loved one. While his name became a symbol heard around the world, we must never forget the human life behind the movement.
The fight for justice did not end with a verdict. It continues in courtrooms, communities, and conversations across America as we continue demanding accountability, equality, and lasting change.
Say his name: George Floyd. Rest in power.
@CBSMornings - Please tell Vladimir not to misstate how DECORATION DAY really began. It was May 1st, not 30th. Black soldiers lost in the Civil War were reburied. Children created it. Stolen! Take time to read this, so you can tell the truth Tues.

So, Walgreens is closing several stores in Chicago's East side Black neighborhoods. Rather than protest, go find some Black Pharmacists and experienced retail managers and OPEN YOU OWN. This is a perfect time to let Pharaoh go. They sure in the hell are letting you go.
Last observation - Why did Colbert call the Chairman of Red Lobster, Damola Adamolekun, a "boy" last night (4/21/26) during the monologue?? How would he take that if it were reversed? The news stations would be ... Yeah, you know. Of course, CBS liked it.

@mikel_oliver13@CLG98264897 Thank you for reminding our folks out here. This is NOT a joke, it's not clever or cute. And it's an obvious sign of what a colonized mind really looks like. In 2026.
@LakotaMan1 Sat. 04/11/26 @9:40 am CDT - Yes, Lakota Man. I can see you at this moment. Your posts are thought-provoking, probably too much for this ownership. Have you considered Substack?
@SVG__Collection Absolutely right. Charles Stepney heard her sound when she was with the Gems. Then he took her to the Rotary Connection when Chess tried to electrify their artists beyond Blues. But the 5 octaves shined when Minnie was alone w/Charles Stepney weaving her orchestration. Only one!
Lest we forget. There were no free breakfast programs, or free medical centers, or transportation to prisons to visit loved ones, until there was a BLACK PANTHER PARTY. Let your studies of Black History include the Black Power Movement, don't stop at Civil Rights.
In 1969, the Black Panthers launched free breakfast programs across the US, feeding thousands of kids before school. The FBI called it a threat. In some cities, police raided kitchens, smashed food, and urinated on supplies to shut them down.
