My favorite italian cultural aspect is la Befana because I think it's interesting that people in Italy celebrate Christmas differently. #pvrhsdwl

Studying italian creates a window to the world by providing a way for me to communicate with my family members in Italy. #pvrhsdwl

A great memory from my italian class was when we went around the school to different classrooms, singing Christmas songs in italian. #pvrhsdwl

@jack_jisu I loved this book! I think the style of writing adds something special because you are able to see Charlie's intelligence increasing for yourself. I think this lets the reader gain a more personal and connected perspective on Charlie's character development.

@pgorman21 Overall did having a husband as president have a negative or positive effect on their relationship? What about their relationship with their children?

@kate_ng21 Although The Handmaid's Tale was published in 1985, the sequel called The Testaments is coming this year. I will read it because there were a lot of possibilities with where the author could take the storyline. The plot was set up for a sequel because it ended on a cliffhanger.

I just finished reading The Handmaid's Tale. I was very surprised by the ending. It ended very abruptly and with a lot of uncertainty. However, I really enjoyed the additional context and perspective that the "historical notes" provided to the story. #apread19

I like that Offred came from a normal life before the war, similar to our lives now, because I think it helps readers relate to her situation more. I wonder how I would handle living with almost no control over my life especially if I did have control in the past. #apread19

I recognize elements of women's issues in history and even currently present in The Handmaid's Tale. It's also clear what the author's views are on these issues. I really like that this book has these thought-provoking elements. #apread19

I started reading The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood. Although I find this book a little disturbing, I am enjoying reading it so far. I find that the book's "universe" that the author, Atwood, has created is very complex and well thought out. #apread19
