@Thyra10@DannyWArmstrong Just wrong. Studies show that people who start adulthood with a normal BMI but move later in life to being overweight (NOT OBESE) tend to live longer.
When BMI goes 30 or above, life expectancy decreases by several years.
@Thyra10@DannyWArmstrong Q
You can be obese/unhealthy and die young OR thin/unhealthy and die young. But to possibly insinuate that obese/unhealthy people outlive thin healthy people? 🤔
Ultimately if you eat like shit and don't exercise your body won't fair well...no matter the size
@AeosStarfell@Duolingoswife @chaosAnControl @Bossy_Leah Anything under the sexual education umbrella should not be taught to children in classes below 4th grade.
@Duolingoswife@AeosStarfell @chaosAnControl @Bossy_Leah You do realize that I am not talking about intercourse. Comprehensive sex-ed classes cover sexual orientation. That is where these open discussions need to happen. Otherwise, I do not want a non-sex ed teacher talking about anything that falls under the sex ed umbrella...
@Duolingoswife@AeosStarfell @chaosAnControl @Bossy_Leah I do not want any teacher unless it is a sex-ed teacher, talking to my children about topics on sex. I'm not limiting it to only LGBTQ+ topics. I'm simply saying topics on ALL sexual subjects should be limited.
@Duolingoswife@AeosStarfell @chaosAnControl @Bossy_Leah Absolutely not. Gender identity is not always about sex. agreed. However, as I said before, unless the child approaches the adult authority figure for guidance or to ask questions, said adult should not approach the child. That it is inappropriate.
@AeosStarfell @chaosAnControl @Duolingoswife@Bossy_Leah Why are teachers, other than sex-ed teachers, talking with minors about sexual matters at all? It's one thing to administer resources to a child that comes seeking guidance, but teachers should not be initiating topics regarding sex...PERIOD!
@amymannn92 However, there is no excuse to disrespect or exclude our future colleagues! We need to pay it forward. I believe managers need to modulate patient load for nurses getting students. You can't overwhelm nurses w/ criticals and then throw students in the mix.
@amymannn92 I personally love having students with me. The problem is when I have 5 (or 6, depending on staffing) critical patients to care for and 2-3 nursing students following along. It slows you down, especially if they want to help with things like assessments/med passes.
@roadcoconut @horny_antifa @DrNadolsky Of course not. Once in a while will not hurt anyone. The occasional soda will not cause harm. The problem is that we do not live in a society where moderation is practiced. People drink soda 3+ times a day. That's the problem.
@roadcoconut @horny_antifa @DrNadolsky However, yes, you can demonize/ban a soft drink beverage that has known health impacts. Which include but not limited to: migraines due to the inflammatory properties, insulin confusion, changes brain reaction to sugar, weight gain.
Now tell me what damn carrot does that?
@roadcoconut @horny_antifa @DrNadolsky Diet sodas pose MULTIPLE health risks, which I recommend you research. Which extend far beyond migraines. Some individuals having sensitivities/intolerances to certain foods is noa basis for banning a naturally occurring crop
@roadcoconut @horny_antifa @DrNadolsky One again, there is a difference. MANY things can cause migraines. If I have a sensitivity to apples and it causes migraines then obviously, I'm not going to 'ban all apples'. But once again, fruits and veggies ARE NOT synthetically made in a factory.
@roadcoconut @horny_antifa @DrNadolsky Not even remotely the same thing... but okay.
The weather isn't artificially manufactured in a factory and blended with synthetic sweeteners/ other processed ingredients... which can have multiple negative affects on health (not limited to migraines).
@emCancellations @CavataioVicki @neaarzz Jaundice (the yellowing of the skin due to high bilirubin levels) is mostly attributed to liver, pancreatic, or gallbladder issues/conditions. Hepatitis may also be a cause of jaundice. Refined/processed sugars & fats have been linked to the build up of fatty liver
