I’d always recommend downgrading to a $0 Annual Fee version of the card instead of closing. That way you have another open line of credit that increases your credit score.

@BrianFeroldi Hey Brian, a lot of cards have downgrade paths to $0 Annual Fee cards. It make more sense to downgrade and “sock drawer” it.

Also for reoccurring travel hacking, you can get travel bonuses every 2 years.

I love credit card points.

Just booked an $800 hotel for 20k points and because I used points, the taxes and $32 resort fee are waived.

That's ~4.5c per point and with 2x/points I effectively got 9% back on purchases
