Digital ownership is the only way to truly own your games, it aint that hard. @DoesItPlay1 is part of the movement for exactly that (and cause we like our discs).
Love or hate @Asmongold, but he’s completely right here: you can lose access to your game even if it’s on disc.

Eventually, even digital data will no longer be owned by individuals on their own initiative. Whenever there is a major change or accident in the world, in a country, in a government, in an idea, in a trend, access to it may suddenly be cut off.
Believe it or not it’s already been three decades since ILM first partnered with Tom Cruise and the filmmaking team behind Mission: Impossible. That first entry in the storied franchise showcased some of ILM’s most accomplished work in hybrid visual effects, combining both practical miniatures and cutting-edge computer graphics.

RIP double Oscar winning special visual effects supervisor, Brian Johnson. He won for Alien & Empire Strikes Back. Of the generation that did all special effects, he alternated between supervising physical effects, miniatures then motion control work and later directed CGI.
There is a lot going on right now on the @Space_Station, but fortunately we are all safe and witnessed a spectacular southern aurora show yesterday thanks to a recent solar event.
George Lucas new museum cost $1.5B.
Chicago and SF both turned it down.
So, it’ll open at Exposition Park in LA in September 2026.
It is 300,000 square feet and has 11 galleries holding art (Norman Rockwell, Frida Kahlo), valuable comics (Marvel, DC, Peanuts), original film props (Star Wars) and his 17,000 pair collection of Air Monarchs (to be confirmed).
Marcia Lucas, who won an Oscar for editing “Star Wars,” directed by her former husband George Lucas, has died from cancer. She was 80.
“Marcia will be remembered as a brilliant storyteller, a trailblazer for women in film, a loving mother and grandmother, a generous host, and a loyal friend whose humor and sparkle filled every room she entered. Her influence on film is indelible, but those who knew her best will remember the way she made life feel more vivid, more beautiful, more fun, and more full of love,” the family statement said.

‘The Powerpuff Girls’ creator Craig McCracken has released a tribute to the late Tom Kane.
“I grew up without a dad, so it was important to me that the girls had the best one I could give them and that was Tom.”
"Sound has always been important to me," said our founder, George Lucas, who celebrates his birthday today. "I'm a firm believer that it's 50% of the experience, and it's the neglected 50%. I've always made a practice of putting great deal of effort and creativity into my soundtracks, and hiring my sound editors before we start shooting the picture." That philosophy continues to inspire everything about our work here at Skywalker Sound. Happy Birthday, George, and thank you!
Happy Birthday, Dad! ♥️
Here’s one of our favorite photos of you holding court with the team in the Screening Room of D Building on The Empire Strikes Back. Thank you for inspiring generations of filmmakers, artists, and technicians here at Industrial Light & Magic!
ANOTHER NGO is launching for #StopKillingGames! While UK's consumer laws aren't as strong as the EU's, the industry not informing WHEN games will be destroyed at the time of purchase may violate DMCC 2024, there's possible leverage to get protections.

It's interesting seeing the industry double down on proving just how badly end of life plans are needed for games. This is exactly the sort of thing #StopKillingGames wants regulators / MEPs to see. Customers increasingly have no protections when it comes to video games.
