Last weekend, more than 1,000 people came together at Truist Park for the annual Patriot Day 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb.
Participants climbed more than 2,000 steps throughout the ballpark, symbolizing the 110 flights of stairs FDNY firefighters ascended at the World Trade Center during search and rescue efforts on September 11, 2001. Many climbed wearing the names and photos of those who lost their lives that day.
The morning also included a remembrance ceremony, with a moment of silence observed at the time of the first planeβs impact and a symbolic missing-man formation flyover marking the time of the second.
All proceeds from the climb will benefit the Terry Farrell Firefighters Fund of Georgia, supporting first responders in need and their families across the state.
Today and always, we remember. πΊπΈ
