Right! And it took a lot of time and resources just to catch this small number of errors -- who knows how many more there might be? Meanwhile, if the system were reformed so that nobody could make this mistake, those resources could be used elsewhere, and fewer people wd be going to prison. Win win!
@jh336405@BillMelugin_ If it's that easy for green card holders (some of them native English speakers) to accidentally make this mistake, that would actually be pretty strong evidence that some kind of change is needed.
@cneqvrc@Shuttlecock Yeah, was gonna say this matches my experience of Australians. Whenever I'm in Asia and a bunch of drunk white people are making a ruckus, they always turn out to be Australian. More like a 50/50 chance in Europe tho, Germans and Brits really go hard on the weekends
@CSmoothjazz@CartoonsHateHer Yours is the first vision that is not intensely overcrowded, so you win! Looks kinda cold though, seems like you could use a coat
@anish_koka@wil_da_beast630 Oh, I'd say ECFMG has an interest! Ending their monopoly as the SOLE sponsor of foreign med students seeking J-1s would certainly be a good start.
@esanzi@annbauerwriter@benryanwriter@CHSommers She's incredibly petty and abrasive on social media, to the point where I stopped being able to enjoy her published work -- the long shadow of her online cruelty obscured the beauty of her writing. So this surprised me too.
@gospacecraft@HarvardHealth Ah, ok. So, this study shouldn't be understood as being a recommendation against HRT that includes progestogens, or as showing that estrogen-only MHT is superior. It simply looked at that form of MHT. More studies involving progetogens will come!
@gospacecraft@HarvardHealth Why? The transdermal estradiol (estrogen) patch is not contraindicated for women with migraines. The patch doesn't carry the same risks as oral estrogen. As for women with endo, they (like any woman with a uterus) should pair the patch with a progestogen.
@JillFilipovic This is a standard East Coast tradition when the maternal family is eminent: if say baby's mom was a Duckton, then Duckton will be baby's middle name. Usually she'll also be nicknamed Duck so nobody can miss the connection. Or, like R. Mara, she'll just go by Duckton.
@LittleMoonBoy1@MamonoWorld People have been creating headstones and epitaphs for their dogs for literally THOUSANDS of years. When you sneer at perhaps the most ancient human ritual still practiced today, the humanity you call into question is your own. https://t.co/zMLCbvPspM
The article's conclusion reveals that the three main characters (Marie, Claire, and Laura) are currently sophomores. Their misadventures with rushing appear to have occurred last spring. (This is assuming they actually exist -- certain aspects of the article make me wonder if they are, to be generous, composites.)
@ChristinaPushaw@cehoskinson I don't believe public disclosure of dual citizenship is required of elected officials, which in itself seems kinda surprising.
@DerekDenhamAlan@SarahTheHaider I suspect most people who voted for Trump aren't contributing to or consuming this discourse. Data suggest a good many of them are offline doing shift work.
