Europe just made an interesting move on AI.

The AI Omnibus keeps the core safety rules but reduces compliance burdens for smaller companies, gives them more room to experiment, and pushes back the deadline for some high-risk AI requirements by more than a year.

That stood out to me.

For months, the conversation has been:

"How do we regulate AI?"

Now it feels more like:

"How do we regulate AI without making it impossible to build?"

That's a different conversation.

If this approach works, I wouldn't be surprised to see other jurisdictions study it closely.
