@MichaelWarbur17 "Grab a piece of fruit we can open right up?" says David, Harrison logically picks up the orange atop of the apples. Rolled card is saturated by juice being in there a long time, Card agreed upon before act, not enough time spent looking at the unfurled card, good acting though
A wool jumper, made in 1985, washed in cold water once a month, worn through three decades of British winters, would currently be sitting in someone's wardrobe doing fine.
A polyester fleece, made in 2026, machine-washed weekly, will start to lose its structural integrity within three to five years, shed an estimated 700,000 microfibres per wash into the water system, and end its life in landfill where it will persist for approximately 200 years.
The wool jumper:
- Came from a sheep
- Required grass and rain
- Will biodegrade entirely within three years of being buried
- Will keep you warm when wet
- Will not melt if exposed to a flame
- Will probably outlive you
- Cost £80 in 1985, which is £230 today, and represents the entire jumper budget for the next forty years
The polyester fleece:
- Came from an oil refinery in Texas
- Required hexane extraction, polymerisation and dyeing in three different factories on three different continents
- Will not biodegrade in any human timeframe
- Will get cold and clammy when wet
- Will melt against your skin if exposed to a flame
- Will be in landfill within five years
- Cost £40 in 2026, which means you'll buy ten of them across the next forty years for a total of £400, and the planet will still be eating the residue in the year 2226
But yes. The sheep is the problem.
The sheep, standing in a field in mid-Wales, growing a renewable fibre from grass and rain.
The sheep is the problem.

I had tears in my eyes watching this.
117 farmers aged 20-64 took their own lives in England and Wales in 2022/23.
The Hawkstone Farmers’ Choir was set up to support mental health in agriculture.
In a few months’ time, farmers could win Britain’s Got Talent.
They’ve got my vote
My Grandparents Were Married For 60 Years.
One Day I Asked My Grandfather:
“What’s The Secret To Loving The Same Woman For A Lifetime?”
He didn’t laugh.
He didn’t say “communication.”
He didn’t say “date nights.”
He looked at my grandmother, who was in the kitchen, and said:
“You don’t love the same woman.”
That confused me.
He said, “She changes every few years. And if you don’t update the way you love her, you lose her.”
He told me the girl he married at 22 wasn’t the same woman at 30.
Motherhood changed her.
Loss changed her.
Time changed her.
“At 40,” he said, “she needed respect more than romance.
At 50, she needed partnership more than passion.
At 60, she needed presence more than promises.”
And every time she changed, he had a choice:
Complain that she’s “not like she used to be.”
Or learn her again.
He said the biggest mistake men make is this:
They fall in love once.
Then stop paying attention.
“Loving a woman for a lifetime,” he told me,
“is deciding to stay curious about her.”
Not assuming you know her.
Not freezing her in the version you met.
He leaned back and said something I’ll never forget:
“If you stop studying her, someone else eventually will.”
Sixty years.
Not because it was easy.
Because he kept relearning her.

This Country is no longer what they fought for. How heartbreaking to hear those words, from the last few remaining ‘greatest generation’. They gave so much and now it’s all being destroyed by weak and appeasing politicians, who should hang their heads in shame at the Cenotaph!
