To everyone saying you can't make art with AI video : watch my latest short, then look around. 🔥
The AI creator sphere is the most inspiring place I've seen in 15 years of filmmaking. It gave me back that kid-like joy of making things, just to see them exist.
Thank you to every creator sharing their work, prompts, methods, failures ; this wave of artistic openness is incredible to live through ! 🩷
Shoutout to @GlennHasABeard for sharing my work today, and to @jordandchesney, his latest piece inspired me to raise my own bar higher.
We're just getting started. 👊

@TyWilliams1738 Dude it’s beautiful, the management of the points of view is magnificent, really a nice idea of staging all these shots with face primer. A lot of magic.
What makes something beautiful?
For centuries they said, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder", meaning you get to decide what's beautiful, and no one can take that from you.
Now, they want to take that back. Now, they want to tell you what's beautiful, what is art, what is creative, and what is worthy.
The good news is...
Who cares what they think?
Who cares what they say?
They have no power.
Their words are dust.
You decide what's beautiful and moving, exciting and entertaining.
Art is yours to love or hate.
No amount of gold and worship placed at the feet of one piece of art should sway us to value it. And no screeching voices, or shrill cruelty demanding you surrender your opinions should steal it away.

Hopefully this little film exemplifies that Seedance 2.5 have completely changed the game when it comes to performances. I have NEVER been able to get such perfectly dialed emotions, even with SD2. This was the first time I was actually moved by a performance.
I felt something real.
I STRONGLY RECOMMEND you head over to @capcutapp Creator Studio, select Seedance 2.5, and see what kind of performances you can bring to life. We have enough fight scenes where no one gets hurt, sweeping aerial shots, and dragons breathing fire to last us a lifetime.
Let's try something new because now... we can.
Constraints used to make our choices for us.
For fifteen years directing real sets, half my job was hearing "we can't" : no budget, no permit, no way. The limits decided which stories got told. That wall is gone now. Any idea can be previsualized in an afternoon. All of them. At once.
And honestly? It's dizzying. Almost frightening. When you can suddenly see everything you've ever imagined... where do you even start? I'm discovering that infinite possibility comes with its own creative paralysis.
Genuine question: how do you choose which idea to bring to life first?
Me, I started with this one. It's been in my head since the Paris riots, years ago, two strangers finding each other while everything burns. Today I finally watched a first draft of it and I'm sharing it with you !
WORLD ON FIRE.

Stop comparing works with other works, and formats with other formats.
There are heirs to Hitchcock. There are also heirs to Maya Deren, and heirs to Chris Cunningham, working on completely different formats: 90 minutes in a theatre, one minute on a phone. None of them invalidates the others.
I'm not into rap. Doesn't speak to me, I don't listen to it. But I'm not going around telling people who make beats from samples that classical music is the only thing worth existing.
And art was never meant to please everyone. In your logic, humanity would have stopped inventing, stopped trying anything new.
My prediction is there'll be room for every taste. I'm perfectly happy watching a Cocteau, then a Lynch, then a Nolan, then some wildly experimental music video, all in the same week. None of them cancels the others.
I hope we get even more diversity, more ways of telling stories and passing on emotion 😉👍
I love cinema, and I direct TV fiction in France where those rules absolutely apply. But narrative form isn't one thing, right now I want to experiment somewhere between music video, commercial and fiction. Do I have your permission? 😅
And funny you mention Hitchcock: he spent his career inventing techniques nobody had used before. If he really dreamed of AI, it wasn't to go back to basics.
@Humxnxty Then tell me where the line is. Same images, same edit, same music, same story, if I'd shot it on a stage with dancers, would it be art? If yes, the art isn't in the tool. If no, then what were you calling art in the first place?
