@frobrien Setting Sunday aside in a way that all ages perceive the specialness of the Lord’s Day. Mass, of course, and family routines … maybe it’s dad makes waffles on Sunday mornings and board games after dinner. Things reserved for Sunday that bring us closer to God and each other.
I tend to be a watcher on social media. I often find answers to my wonderings from @heymrsbond. In her personal reflections and in her classroom with her students. I wish every high school student had these opportunities. If you teach (any subject) you should follow her.

“I believe Tulsa voters are intelligent and will see through these manipulative and childish tactics. I have run my race with openness, honesty and transparency, and I am eager to serve District 6 in the same manner.”
Early voting is underway and I’d appreciate your support! 🗳️
This. Both why I teach and why public education is not working. I don’t know what the solution is. But I do know it is not vouchers. It is not less funding. It is not ignoring the needs of students.
She needs a reteach.
He needs food.
They need sleep.
She needs empathy.
He needs attention.
They need directions.
She needs time.
He needs therapy.
They need a shower.
She needs friends.
He needs money.
They need a smile.
And that's just one fraction of one period of one day.
Eating Tulsa’s best ice cream as we get ready for opening night of Team Harmony’s Action Institute. Not only are these students lots of fun to spend time with but they are our future change makers … and the future is bright! @TulsaSchools@TeamHarmony2020@Warrior_Spirit1
First time in a very long time that I am standing in a classroom watching 30 students work Geometry problems at the board. I am not needed. No one is refusing to engage. Students are helping their peers. No one is on a phone (except me). My heart is so very happy. ❤️
Webster HS Leadership Class visited City Hall yesterday. Thank you to West Tulsa’s own Councilor Jeannie Cue for inviting us and to Council Aide Brandon Worley for coordinating our visit! Also huge thank you to Red Light Chicken for treating us to lunch!
@heymrsbond @LacedCt What is the policy at your school? I agree but teachers at my site have not been able to agree on a policy. And if every teacher does not buy in, then we are still classroom by classroom which does not work.
If Joy is a core value for my district, then I just won the “core value” award for the day 😁. Watching the World Cup in Leadership today and the dancing and screaming and pure joy when Mexico scored … then scored again.

THREAD: Educators and leaders nationwide are struggling with student motivation. Coming off a challenging 2+ years, many students are dysregulated. It will be tempting to micro-manage the situation by responding swiftly to disengagement because it is hard to watch. 1/2
@teachbk I am seeing this same thing with high school students. Especially 9th and 10th graders. The focus on helping them rebuild these life skills is exhausting.
What an amazing story. I’m proud of the resilience of the McLain student athletes, the commitment of their coaches and the compassion of the Cushing and Wagoner athletic departments. This is what sports and more importantly community is all about. https://t.co/8GqOmyG7eu
