Rep. @RoKhanna disputed the Israeli military’s account of his detention in the occupied West Bank, saying armed settlers brandished M4 rifles, kicked his delegation’s van, mocked them, and blocked their path.

Khanna said four Israeli soldiers later arrived, told the delegation’s translator that they were “on the side of the settlers,” and continued to detain them. The group was released after contacting the U.S. Embassy and being held for approximately 75 minutes.

“How dare they mistreat people with an American passport that way,” Khanna said, calling on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to investigate the settlers and the four soldiers involved.

Reports that the White House has dismissed the remaining members of the Election Assistance Commission — all of whom were unanimously confirmed by the Senate, including a commissioner appointed by President Trump himself — should concern every American, regardless of party, because the EAC was established by Congress as an independent, bipartisan body to help states administer secure and credible elections.

As a person who wants bipartisan immigration reform, I'm constantly deflated. But @ImproveTheDream has always given me hope. They know how to play the long game and impress skeptical lawmakers and staff. They've testified at numerous committee hearings. A few years ago, they succeeded in getting their policy included and passed in a House version of the NDAA. Today, they're in the New York Times.

I'm proud of them. They've operated this group purely with volunteer support and zero funding of any kind. All of them are in school or working full time, but still devote their own time and money for making Hill visits. I believe that they will eventually be successful.

Trump's DHS spokesperson is trying to blame Democrats for why the ICE agents involved in the execution of a Houston father weren't issued body cameras. That was by design.
