That wasn’t the stupid bit - the stupid bit was that he announced it. (Trying to claim the glory?)

And surprise, surprise, almost immediately the reducing crime figures immediately turned round and went back up.

@DeborahMeaden @mizenator We never did need a referendum to leave the EU. All we needed was a vote in parliament.
However Parliament that we all elected, was aware of how stupid such a move would be.
So those who did want to leave used a referendum as a vehicle to bounce Parliament into voting for it.

@GBPolitcs If we ask why the country is in such a mess - the answer comes back because of 14 years of Tory mis-rule - which thus far they haven’t even begun to acknowledge.
This is why it is taking Kier so long to fix it.
You cannot fix in 6 months a mess that took 14 years to create!
