میں 79ویں یومِ آزادی کے پُرمسرت موقع پر پوری قوم کو دلی مبارکباد پیش کرتی ہوں۔ آج کا دن ہمیں یاد دلاتا ہے کہ پاکستان محض ایک خطۂ زمین نہیں بلکہ ہمارے اسلاف کی عظیم جدوجہد، بے مثال قربانیوں اور ایک روشن مستقبل کے خواب کی تعبیر ہے۔

ہم بانیٔ پاکستان قائداعظم محمد علی جناحؒ، مادرِ ملت محترمہ فاطمہ جناحؒ اور تحریکِ پاکستان کے تمام رہنماؤں، کارکنوں اور شہداء کو خراجِ عقیدت پیش کرتے ہیں، جن کی قربانیوں کی بدولت ہمیں ایک آزاد وطن نصیب ہوا۔

آج ہمیں قائداعظمؒ کے اصولوں اتحاد، ایمان اور نظم و ضبط کو اپنی قومی زندگی کا عملی حصہ بنانے اور ذاتی مفادات سے بالاتر ہو کر پاکستان کی ترقی، خوشحالی اور استحکام کے لیے متحد ہونے کا عہد کرنا ہوگا۔

پاکستان کا سب سے بڑا سرمایہ ہمارے نوجوان ہیں۔ ہمارا عزم ہے کہ ہر بچے کو معیاری تعلیم، ہر نوجوان کو جدید ہنر اور آگے بڑھنے کے مساوی مواقع فراہم کیے جائیں۔ تعلیم، تحقیق، مصنوعی ذہانت، ڈیجیٹل ٹیکنالوجی اور فنی مہارتوں کے ذریعے ہم اپنی نوجوان نسل کو عالمی تقاضوں کے مطابق تیار کرکے پاکستان کو علم اور جدت پر مبنی مضبوط معیشت بنا سکتے ہیں۔

ہم اپنی بہادر مسلح افواج، قانون نافذ کرنے والے اداروں اور شہداء کو بھی سلام پیش کرتے ہیں جن کی قربانیوں نے وطن کے دفاع اور سلامتی کو مضبوط بنایا۔ معرکۂ حق میں قوم اور افواجِ پاکستان کا مثالی اتحاد ہمارے قومی عزم، یکجہتی اور قوت کا مظہر ہے۔

آج کے دن ہم اپنے کشمیری اور فلسطینی بہن بھائیوں کے حقِ خودارادیت اور آزادی کی منصفانہ جدوجہد کے لیے پاکستان کی غیر متزلزل حمایت کا بھی اعادہ کرتے ہیں۔

آئیں! اس یومِ آزادی پر عہد کریں کہ ہم اختلافات سے بالاتر ہو کر ایک قوم، ایک عزم اور ایک روشن مستقبل کے لیے کام کریں گے اور قائداعظمؒ کے پاکستان کو ایک تعلیم یافتہ، بااختیار، پُرامن اور خوشحال پاکستان بنائیں گے۔

پاکستان ہماری پہچان، ہمارا فخر اور ہماری مشترکہ ذمہ داری ہے۔

اللہ تعالیٰ ہمارے پیارے وطن کو ہمیشہ قائم و دائم رکھے، اسے امن، استحکام، ترقی اور خوشحالی عطا فرمائے اور سبز ہلالی پرچم کو ہمیشہ سربلند رکھے۔ آمین۔

Pleased to witness another important milestone in Pakistan–United States educational relations with the renewal of the Fulbright-HEC partnership through a new five-year agreement between HEC and USEFP.

The revival of the Pakistan–U.S. Higher Education Working Group after nearly 14 years created renewed momentum for meaningful engagement, and today we are translating that dialogue into tangible opportunities for our students, scholars, faculty and institutions.

Through Fulbright and other academic exchange programmes, we are investing in Pakistan’s most valuable asset — our people — by strengthening higher education, research, innovation and globally competitive human capital.

I deeply appreciate the commitment of HEC, USEFP, the U.S. Embassy and all stakeholders who have worked together to take this partnership forward.

قومی اقلیتی دن کے موقع پر میں پاکستان کی اقلیتی برادریوں کو خراجِ تحسین پیش کرتی ہوں جنہوں نے ہمارے ملک کی ترقی، خوشحالی اور سماجی ڈھانچے میں بے مثال کردار ادا کیا ہے۔ پاکستان کے قیام کی جدوجہد سے لے کر ملک کی تعمیر تک، تعلیم، صحت، سرکاری خدمات، کاروبار، ثقافت اور زندگی کے ہر شعبے میں ان کی خدمات ہم سب کے لیے باعثِ فخر ہیں۔

پاکستان اپنے تمام شہریوں کا برابر ہے۔ ہمارا آئین بنیادی حقوق، مذہبی آزادی اور بغیر کسی امتیاز کے مساوی مواقع کی ضمانت دیتا ہے۔ یہ ہماری اجتماعی ذمہ داری ہے کہ ہر پاکستانی، چاہے اس کا تعلق کسی بھی مذہب سے ہو، عزت، احترام اور برابری کے ساتھ زندگی گزارے۔

تعلیم کا معاشرے میں رواداری، باہمی احترام اور پرامن بقائے باہمی کے فروغ میں نہایت اہم کردار ہے۔ ہم ایسے تعلیمی ماحول کے قیام کے لیے پرعزم ہیں جہاں ہر بچہ خود کو محفوظ، باوقار اور بااختیار محسوس کرے اور پاکستان کے مستقبل کی تعمیر میں اپنا کردار ادا کر سکے۔

آج کے دن آئیے ہم قائداعظم محمد علی جناح کے اس وژن کی تجدید کریں جس میں ہر شہری کو برابر کے حقوق حاصل ہوں اور ہماری تنوع ہمیں تقسیم کرنے کے بجائے مزید مضبوط بنائے۔

Nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize
Field Marshal Asim Munir

I respectfully submit this nomination of Field Marshal Asim Munir in recognition of his exceptional and timely contributions to international peace and conflict de-escalation.

During a period of heightened and dangerous tensions between the United States and the Iran, when the threat of military confrontation carried severe implications for regional and global stability, Field Marshal Munir played a pivotal and constructive role in facilitating restraint, communication, and dialogue.

Through discreet yet effective diplomatic engagement, he utilized Pakistan’s strategic position and channels of communication to help bridge a deep divide between two longstanding adversaries. His efforts contributed to the establishment of a ceasefire environment and encouraged both sides to engage in dialogue rather than escalation—an outcome of immense importance given the volatility of the situation.

Field Marshal Munir’s approach reflects core principles long upheld by the Norwegian Nobel Committee: the promotion of fraternity among nations, the reduction of armed conflict, and the advancement of peace through negotiation and mutual understanding. His actions demonstrate that even in moments of profound mistrust, leadership grounded in strategic patience and dialogue can produce meaningful pathways toward stability.

At a time when global conflicts are increasingly complex and resistant to resolution, his contribution stands as a significant example of effective peace facilitation. The avoidance of further escalation between the United States and Iran has had far-reaching implications, not only for the region but for international security as a whole.

In light of these efforts, I strongly and respectfully recommend Field Marshal Asim Munir for consideration for the Nobel Peace Prize. His role in fostering de-escalation and enabling dialogue reflects the very spirit of Alfred Nobel’s vision for those who work to advance peace in the world.
