@TheHinoeumaX I don't even think she was there even during the rebranding. The rebranding itself is not good or bad, because it's the content decisions that matter.
@sqtippy@luvblessingz Oh, and the Sesame Street Pinball Number Count (1977), which was deconstructed here in great fun and detail by Charles Cornell:

Fred Rogers met with a child psychologist every week for 22 years to build his show. She shaped everything: every script, prop, and song. The whole point was to give a child's nervous system time to slow down. In 1984, a single regulatory decision ended all of it.
The psychologist was Dr. Margaret McFarland, who co-founded the Arsenal Family and Children's Center alongside Benjamin Spock and Erik Erikson. She and Rogers understood that the prefrontal cortex in children, the part of the brain that controls impulse, emotion, and attention, takes decades to fully develop. At the start of every episode, Rogers tied his sneakers and changed his sweater while children settled in. Those pauses were intentional, designed to help a child's nervous system shift into a calmer, more focused state.
What ended it had nothing to do with child development science. In 1984, Reagan's FCC chairman Mark Fowler abolished the advertising limits that had protected children's programming from commercial pressure. Toy companies moved within months. Between 1984 and 1985, cartoons tied to toy lines increased by 300%, from a handful of shows to more than 40 animated series. In almost every case, the toy was designed first. The cartoon was built to sell it.
Researchers later put numbers to what parents were already noticing. A 2011 study in Pediatrics from the University of Virginia tested 60 four-year-olds across three groups: one watching SpongeBob, which cuts scene every 11 seconds; one watching a slow PBS show, which cuts scene every 34 seconds; and one drawing. Nine minutes later, all three took tests on attention, impulse control, short-term memory, and problem-solving. The SpongeBob group scored significantly worse across every measure.
In the 1970s, children began watching television around age 4. Research from pediatrician Dimitri Christakis found that by 2009, the average age of first screen exposure had dropped to 4 months, as the content got faster and the audience got younger. Researchers separately found that each additional hour of daily screen time at ages 1 or 3 raised the risk of attention problems at age 7 by 9%.
Many argued that Putin would never strike the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, built in 1078. It was simply too important – a spiritual symbol of Eastern Orthodoxy and a place deeply woven into Russia’s own historical narrative.
They were wrong.
This war was never about defending faith, tradition, or shared heritage.
A regime that destroys churches, museums, libraries, cemeteries, and historic cities is not protecting civilization. It is trying to erase another nation’s right to exist.
@Beefeater_Fella This won't end well, because one part of the fuel is left as spare capacity to handle any force majeure event (redirection).
If this will continue, then top-of-the-line foreign airlines will stop flying to Russia.
Russian authorities have restricted the refuelling of foreign aircraft amid a fuel shortage in the country
Rosaviatsia has imposed restrictions on the refuelling of foreign airlines' aircraft at a number of Russian airports. "Foreign airlines have started to refuel in significantly larger volumes than required for the flight," the statement said.
According to the department's recommendations, the refuelling of foreign aircraft must now be pre-agreed with fuel suppliers. The volume of aviation kerosene dispensed should not exceed the amount necessary for the flight.
Oh dear.. 🤪
🇩🇪 How an AfD Politician Uncovered the Kremlin's Lies and Flipped for Ukraine
A former member of Germany's pro-Russian AfD party shares just how powerful Russian propaganda is within their ranks, admitting that he himself used to be deeply pro-Russian because he blindly believed Russia's lies.
However, when he traveled to Ukraine for the very first time, he saw with his own eyes that everything Russia says is a complete lie, and that Ukrainians are entirely different from Russians. Following this revelation, he became staunchly pro-Ukrainian right inside his pro-Russian party and began openly calling out Russia's falsehoods.
At night, Russian forces once again targeted Ukraine, First Responders and the cost was paid by those trying to save lives.
In Kharkiv, five State Emergency Service rescuers were killed while extinguishing fires following a Russian attack.
These men ran towards danger to protect others and never came home. My condolences to their families, colleagues, and loved ones. 🇺🇦
Noční útoky na řadu kulturních objektů včetně Kyjevskopečerské lávry odhalují čiré zoufalství a barbarství Ruska, které cíleně ničí to, co nemůže nikdy mít. Vyjadřuji upřímnou soustrast rodinám obětí. Ukrajina nyní potřebuje naši podporu, včetně uvalení dalších sankcí na Rusko.
When people in Washington lower their voices and say, “Please don’t use my name. I’m afraid he’ll come after my family’s livelihood,” it means something has broken. People no longer trust the law to protect them.
The fuel crisis in Russia continues. As of today, 21 regions of the Russian Federation are facing refueling issues, including empty or closed gas stations and shortages of certain types of fuel. Furthermore, another 12 regions have introduced fueling limits this week.

We saw "Back to the Future II", so we can comprehend this. We in Europe just couldn't imagine, that this science fiction would become science fact, but here we are.
