@JunqianXuLab will relocate to Baylor College of Medicine @bcmhouston. As a proud mentor of four fellowship awardees, there is nothing more satisfying than seeing them achieving their own career milestones as well. I appreciate the opportunities provided to me by @IcahnMountSinai
A tour de force effort by Dr. Benjamin Ely @Braines to characterize #habenula functional connectivity in healthy young adults from the @HumanConnectome Project, revealing connectivity with #salience network, early sensory cortices, and a strong bias towards task-positive regions.
My paper mapping human #habenula functional connectivity in healthy adults using data from @HumanConnectome is now in press @NeuroImage_EiC! Many thanks to @JunqianXuLab for guiding and supporting this work https://t.co/vX9DFqMR6Z
Every alumnus (graduate student or postdoctoral fellow) from @JunqianXuLab gets a handpicked children's picture book before leaving the lab. Dr. Benjamin Ely got #HappyDreamer written by Peter H. Reynolds @peterhreynolds
Congrats to @GradSchoolSinai#neuroscience PhD candidate Benjamin Ely, co-mentored by Drs. Emily Stern and Vilma Gabbay, for successfully defending his dissertation "Function and anatomy of the human #habenula circuit". Proud to hood him during the hooding ceremony @LincolnCenter
@JeffMYau @MtSinaiRehabMed No task, entirely based on resting-state fMRI, which is the beauty of this approach for people with #SpinalCordInjury. The parcellations are the HCP group-level MMP-v1.0 from Glasser et al., Nature 2016. There are clear individual variation from the group-level boundaries.
@JunqianXuLab will present poster (TH242, abstract #4212), titled "Towards individual-level somatotopic mapping in chronic #SpinalCordInjury using multimodal MRI" today in Category: Disorders of the Nervous System -> Other #OHBM2019 at Rome, Italy. In collab. w/ @MtSinaiRehabMed
Dr. Benjamin Ely will present poster (M064, abstract #4737), titled "Aberrant #habenula connectivity in #adolescent mental illness" today in Category: Disorders of the Nervous System -> Research Domain Criteria studies (#RDoC) #OHBM2019 at Rome, Italy. Collab. w/ Dr. Vilma Gabbay
Dr. Alan Seifert's @alancseifert paper "Formalin tissue fixation biases #myelin‐sensitive MRI" is out in @MagResMed https://t.co/ou0mnQbPtn, which urges caution in the comparison of qMT and MWI results across specimens in different states, especially unfixed versus fixed tissue.
I'm excited to be selected as one of the inaugural @ReproNim / @INCForg fellows this year. Can't wait to implement the Reproducible Neuroimaging training syllabus developed in today's "train the trainer" workshop and disseminate locally as a training workshop.
Congratulations to the @ReproNim/@INCForg 2019-2020 Training Fellowship in Reproducible Neuroimaging awardees!
Eleven outstanding fellows from around the world have been accepted & will start their fellowship year with a WS in Rome, prior to @OHBM 2019.

@INM7_ISN@SOBP@OHBM Hasn't @NINDStrials nailed down the definition of #biomarker pretty solidly already: "A biomarker is a defined characteristic that is used as an indicator of normal biological processes, pathogenic processes or responses to a therapeutic intervention."? https://t.co/wdzvNAaqn9
Dr. Alan Seifert @alancseifert@MtSinaiPostdocs
will present D-poster #2891 "Anthropomorphic Spinal Cord Phantom with Respiratory B0 Field Fluctuations" at Spinal Cords, Disks & Nerves: Neuro session, 2:30-3:30pm, 5/14, Computer 70 #ISMRM19
Dr. Alan Seifert @alancseifert@MtSinaiPostdocs will present D-poster #2816 "Impact of Autocalibration Method on Accelerated Echo-Planar Imaging of the Cervical Spinal Cord at 7T" at Neuroimaging: Flying High at 7T & Beyond session, 1:30-2:30pm, 5/14, Computer 170 #ISMRM19
We will present #ARVO2019 poster (5603 - B0494), titled "Assessing #OpticNerve microstructural integrity in asymmetric #glaucoma using diffusion MRI" in Imaging II Session, 3-5pm on May 1, Vancouver, Canada. Adopting @mikemorisson’s revolutionary template https://t.co/4YKF9hvyyA.
@AnticevicLab It rings the bell to me that we cited his 1985 PNAS article "Dispersion of growing axons within the optic nerve of the embryonic monkey" in our very recent Neuroimage optic nerve dMRI paper. Wish articles nowadays could be so short but still so influential as in the old days.
In collaboration with Dr. Jesper Andersson @OxfordWIN and Dr. Sheng-Kwei Song and Dr. Robert Naismith's teams @WUSTLmed. Stay tuned for clinical imaging results, using our improved human #OpticNerve diffusion imaging method, in #OpticNeuritis patients, conducted @WUSTLmed.
Dr. Joo-won Kim's paper "Incorporating non-linear alignment and multi-compartmental modeling for improved human #OpticNerve diffusion imaging" is out in @NeuroImage_EiC, in which we address long-standing issues of #OpticNerve motion and CSF contamination. https://t.co/h5QlMxKFnY
Dr. Joo-won Kim @MtSinaiPostdocs will give oral presentation, titled "Ultra-high field human cervical spinal cord and brainstem imaging", on behalf of the lab @alancseifert today, at SS03 Neuro Scientific Session in the 7th International Congress on MRI (#ICMRI2019), Seoul, Korea
