@SimardPete@BretWeinstein A robot that is stronger, has better balance and vision then a human is going to have trouble navigating a crawl space? I don’t see what basis you are making this claim from.
@Lasabove@falloutplays And it’s all by design. They want it to go this way. Just like streaming took over cable and satellite tv. Started super cheap, now it’s almost as expensive as directtv was. As soon as they have us by the balls they will suck every dollar they can outta us
@Lasabove@falloutplays I fully agree that the industry as a whole wants you to not have your own hardware and go completely cloud. I do not like it either. I invested in a 5090 last year specifically because it’s going in this direction and hardware is going to get stupidly expensive.
@Lasabove@falloutplays I do fully realize it could be the opposite and people could use this to make addictive but essentially empty games full of slop and micro transactions.
@Lasabove@falloutplays If generative AI will allow more games like that and like lethal company or even shit like palworld lol then yeah, my opinion is that the juice was worth the squeeze.
@Lasabove@falloutplays The gems will rise out of the ashes of the AI slop just like they do right now. I’m really having a hard time understanding how this will be different then what we are seeing today
@Lasabove@falloutplays You’re literally describing the gaming market now lol idc if the ratio of ai slop to 10/10 game is a million to one. If this produces that 1 10/10 game that wouldn’t be around otherwise then it’s worth all the slop. There so much slop on steam now, and I still find good games.
@Lasabove@falloutplays We are around the corner from sitting back and letting it do the work for you. Like I’ve said, this is the beginning. When AI first came out it was shit. It’s definitely not shit anymore.
@Lasabove@falloutplays I disagree with the part where you say “creative bankruptcy is only going to increase”. I think in the future there will be more room to be creative, because the programming will be done for you so all you have to do is be creative.
@falloutplays It will enable people who probably wouldn’t have created a game yesterday, to create one today.
There will be massive amounts of AI slop dont get me wrong. But diamonds will come out this. Just give it time.
@falloutplays I’ll add this as well. Guillaume Broche, the creator of Claire obscure expedition 33 said several times in interviews that if it wasn’t for the tools within UE5 that E33 wouldn’t exist today. I see this as a similar tool but much more powerful.
