Frederick Douglass once observed that the greatest threat to slavery is education. With that being true then the inverse must also be true: slavery’s greatest ally is deliberate ignorance.

I thought I knew the story of the American Revolution.

I didn't.

Revolutionary America from Hillsdale College is now streaming free on YouTube, and it's one of the most powerful historical documentaries I've seen. Told primarily through period artwork rather than Hollywood dramatization, it brings the sacrifices, suffering, and courage of the founding generation to life in a way I wasn't prepared for.

I don't know how long it will remain free, perhaps only during the America 250 celebration, but if you care about this country, watch it while you can.
