After every test at Lagos Island Maternity, the doctor kept saying, "There is nothing in your result that should stop you from getting pregnant." But my heart was still heavy. In that moment, I needed someone who understood. My mind went straight to @toyin_abraham1 , because she had walked that same waiting season.

One thing about me: I don’t like to be lied to. When we spoke, she was straight with me.
"I can't tell you it’s easy to be in a waiting period, but what I can assure you is that God will answer your prayer soon." And indeed, it happened soon after.

When I finally got pregnant, she was one of the very first people I told.

Earlier this year, during a scan, the doctor suggested a minor surgery — “we can’t lose what we have waited years for.” Around that same time, she called to check on me. I told her I was at the hospital. Guess who showed up to check on me, even though I refused to send her the address and only gave her the hospital name? Toyin Abraham, I was so shocked.
