@Durhammoney we touched on it! Fairtrade bananas are a just as good substitute when there are no seasonal fruits available in the UK, as they’re easy to transport and ethically grown.

Tom Bray, a Just Love Durham Alumni(!) spoke to us about clean and affordable energy, and the environment. He gave us 5 key practical tips to take away:

There is still work to be done. We are still digging up coal. Join in campaigns with Christian Climate Action, or Tearfund! Join movements to influence the decision makers in higher power. Write letters to your MP. Use your voice!
Tip 3: BUY LESS.
This is the most fundamental point. Be content with what you have and actively resist the pressure to spend money on things you do not actually need. Never just shop for the sake of it!
In JustLunch this week we listened to another podcast by Bridgetown Church, this time about sustainable shopping habits and fast fashion.
Here are the 3 suggestions for conscious consumerism that were highlighted:
Tip 2: BUY FROM ETHICAL BRANDS.
There are brands that are decidedly slow, and try their hardest to reduce their impact on the planet and its people. If you must buy new, consider brands that are attempting to be ethical and sustainable
