Outsurance finally brought back my money this morning.

Last week Teusday at around 19:00, a fraudulent and unauthorised debit order of R7 487.10 went off on my capitec entreprenuer account and I didnt received even a single notification. I only noticed on the next morning when I was perusing my account.

I immediately went to capitec to reverse it but all the consultant could help me with was to call head office, where they couldnt assist with anything. Capitec has this stupid debit order rule that they can only reverse debit order to a mximum of R800, anything above that you have to reverse inside the branch, but even the branch couldn't help with anything. All they did was findout that the debit refernce number belonged to outsurance and then advised me to call them and lodge a complaint.

I called and we had a back and forth conversation over the next few days and I found out that the person that had opened an account is actually an Outsurance representative who used my Entrepreneur account details (of which he/she only got my account number right, all other details were wrong, including my name). The name used was Patrick Dlamini.

This fraudster somehow managed to tap into my account all these wrong details and even went on to bypass the so called "debi-check" security measure by capitec in order to register me as a client so that he could get commission.

This means then that @OUTsurance is harbouring fraudsters in its ranks that will anything for a quick buck. But more concerning, this means that my money is not safe at all with @CapitecBankSA , anyone can copy my bank account and easily authorise fraudulent transactions in it without my knowledge or consent and to make it worse, capitec will make excuses instead of reversing it immediately.

Had this debit order not gone to a registered company bound by consumer ethics, my money would be gone for good.

The gentleman wearing the Kaizer Chiefs shirt, Victor, called me today at around 9:00 AM after realizing that him and his friend were trending on social media. We met at Sunnyside Police Station, where he apologized, took full accountability for his actions, and returned my card holder. With the assistance of the police, we calculated the total amount that had been spent through unauthorized transactions, and he reimbursed the full amount by depositing it back into my bank account.
