My statements on NATO triggered some reactions. I do stand by them. It is a burden we share: we can't put money and pay the cost of our soldiers' lives without being clear on the fundamentals of what NATO should be. Tomorrow, I will stand up for the French and European interests.
Why have this poor girl go through this? She has already been through too much. Putting this on TV show just makes matters worse. What is the wisdom behind this, which clearly led to her breakdown?
-Airspace of northern syria was opened to Turkish warplanes and the US officials themselves confirmed that this was Trump's instructions and that Turkey would attack.
+++Syrian democratic forces commander in chief, General Mazloum Abdî: "The Turkish invasion took place with a green light from the US and an agreement between Trump and Erdogan."
Turkey was able to circumvent a US export ban on killer drones with the help of a missile component first developed in the UK, allowing Ankara to become an emerging power in the lethal technology, which experts warn is dangerously proliferating https://t.co/PcxLSyBLxu
So Qatar, for example, and Tunisia, which haven't had a tangible effect on the war against ISIS, get invited to this, but KRG and Syrian Kurds don't? How will you fight ISIS exactly without the support of Kurds?
Maybe Erdogan should show this video of his soldiers beheading Kurdish fighters somewhere in Turkey to President Trump on his next DC trip. And then we can send some other videos of some 170 Kurds being burned alive in a basement in Turkey, for instance.
It would be a major slap in the face to the U.S. if #Erdogan, just hours/days after his meeting at the @WhiteHouse views the final departure of U.S. troops near #Kobane#Kobanî as his chance to lay siege to this majority Kurdish city.
So Turkish pres. was in WH to screen a propaganda video which has nothing to do with SDF or Mazlum Abdi? Did he also bother to show evidences which actually do not exist? Did anybody ask him about some 1000 civilian murders, summary executions and mass displacement by TR army?
Turkish army and its proxies killed more than 1000 civilians in Afrin, Ras al-Ayn and Til Abyad since Jan. 2018. Displaced more than 500K Kurds from their homes in Afrin + 300K in NE Syria. Nothing ISIS has ever done can even get close to the sheer brutality of TR’s actions.
It is an outrage that President Trump has honored Turkey’s #Erdogan today with a White House meeting. I have repeatedly called for the President to end his dangerous infatuation and complicity with Erdogan and other brutal autocrats abusing the rights of the people.
Turkish state's description of 'civilians' is as contentious as their use of the word 'terrorist'. Mostly, 'civilians' turn out to be armed teachers, military suppliers, armed militias and mercenaries. Bottom line, is the PKK NEVER target civilians in their military operations.
#Turkey has never tolerated the modern democratic notion of rights for Kurds such as Welsh, Scottish or Irish do from UK. Even building a simple barricade brought a wholly disproportionate response from the racist Turkish state against Kurds in 2015 in Nusaybin. #TheKurdishStory
In the US House, just 11 of 435 Representatives voted NO on the #Armenian#Genocide Resolution.
Yesterday, just 1 out of 100 Senators (temporarily) blocked an overwhelmingly majority from voting YES on this bipartisan measure.
Override Ankara’s veto:
