the phrase "lipstick on a pig" has always inspired a deep sadness in me. I think of the pig, looking forward to her big night out, and I bring myself to the verge of tears.
@G_mble9 I genuinely think it’s something they’re incapable of getting their heads around. They’re sat just going ‘Look at that, it’s just ugly’ and missing the actual community around it
@ArthurBoreman@Kingkeir You see the houses near the stadium - that’s means it’s part of a community, near where fans live etc. That’s where the idea of soul comes from. I guess you can’t relate to a stadium not being in a car park in the middle of nowhere
Nothing beats this. Might go down with 4 points next season cos we can’t handle the Europa League as well and I’ll twist in like a mad cunt, but it’s worth it for this
Have a theory that no-one who works in a pub knows how to use a Sky Remote. Going up and down the sports channels for 5 minutes before sticking a match on
Paul Gascoigne smashing up a hotel room was genuinely a more mature and dignified reaction to missing out on the World Cup than Maguire calling every media figure he knows to whine on his behalf before the squad was even announced
@eff_hey In the build up to the Championship playoff final (which they lost), they put his visage on the roof of the shopping centre and it was really unnerving
We’ve legit lost the plot. I honestly have zero idea what people are looking for these days but there needs to be a major shift in criticism. The movie I saw was well written, well directed, beautifully shot, insanely well performed and the sound was amazing. Are we “film” critics or not. We’re supposed to help paint the picture of what an audience can anticipate and this score is not even close to that picture, objectively.
I’ve sent a whole host of these sort of tweets slamming critics of the film specifically. Almost as if the producers were aware a film designed to launder the reputation of a peadophile might not be well received
