When we hear about ‘the basement’, many wonder where that (in)famous address is located.
Well, we have an idea. We have been reporting on this issue for a long time. See the screenshot below.
Political neutrality! Choosing peace! Safe corridor merchants! It's all part of a strategy to pass off vulgar ideas for wisdom and lower the public understanding to an imbecile level.
The author cites the law because law is used to turn civil society into a mindless bureaucracy.
As we celebrate the season, we remain committed to educating, empowering, and protecting rights for all. Wishing you all a joyful season and new year.
Happy holidays 🎊

Court shockingly rules that persons abducted by armed men in broad daylight may have ‘voluntarily disappeared’! Outrageous! In 1974, President Amin appointed a Commission of Inquiry into such disappearances. Is this where we have reached 🇺🇬?
Today was the last day at the office for our incredible @LDC_Uganda clerkship students Mugoya Justine and @mykodre, and our intern, @KirongoSalim—who have been with us for about three months. We thank them for the hard work, dedication to civil liberties, and fresh ideas. You've made a significant contribution to our work, and we’re excited about your future. Keep shining and stay connected.

While we say farewell to our dear sister Marinos today, we reflect on the life of comrade Luzige Masuudi who underwent many sufferings with her. After being shot by the military on 18th November, 2020 in Nakifuma, the regime tried to silence Masuudi and ordered him not to speak out or face severe consensus.
But Masuudi spoke out. He addressed the nation and spoke about how regime operatives were trying to buy his silence after shooting him through the chest and mouth. Then, they started trailing him. He started receiving anonymous messages and calls threatening him. He decided to run to safety and seek refuge out of the country. Fate brought him together with Marinos and they persevered together through all challenges. Sadly, Marinos waited for justice till the very end. But Masuudi is still crying out for justice! I remain ever optimistic that justice will be served some day.

“It’s now clear that the question to grant or not grant bail is nolonger a legal one but a political one. It seems the judiciary has caught a cold following the scorn by the president not to grant bail in certain cases” -Nicholas opiyo, Ugandan Lawyer
BREAKING: Ugandan national @MKatungi, a close associate of CDF @mkainerugaba, stands accused of conspiring to illegally supply military-grade weaponry — including rocket launchers, anti-aircraft systems, and anti-personnel mines — to Mexico’s deadly drug cartel CJNG, a Foreign Terrorist Organization and one of the world’s most violent cartels.
Katungi and co-conspirators allegedly facilitated arms deals worth $58M to support large-scale cocaine trafficking into the U.S. They sought to supply surface-to-air missiles, drones, and ZU-23 systems — weapons capable of downing aircraft.
Despite international prohibitions, the conspirators allegedly forged arms control documents to cover their tracks. Katungi remains at large. If convicted, each faces a minimum of 10 years to life in prison.
Katungi remains defiant and still active online.
Muhoozi and his network are not just a threat to government critics in Uganda — they pose an existential threat to the American homeland.

High Court Judge Emmanuel Baguma had DISMISSED the bail application filed by @kizzabesigye1 and Obeid Lutale. That means they WILL NOT be released on bail, sadly.
