Clueless, traumatized, disappointed - Georgian victims commemorate 14 years since the Russian aggression & occupation. Despite numerous attempts, @IntlCrimCourt & the OTP (@KarimKhanQC) continue to ignore victims’ requests to meet & discuss Georgia situation.
For an unknown reason the @IntlCrimCourt Prosecutor @KarimKhanQC is ignoring multiple requests from Georgian civil society & representatives of victims to meet &discuss #Georgia situation. It has been over a year now & still complete silence from OTP.
ICC has failed on every lvl
@LucyLou_Demorin@KarimKhanQC Disappointing is understatement. Just to provide an example, this issue was discussed in Georgian media for just a day, that is how much people care about it. No one even talks about execution of the upcoming warrants or about any future proceedings.
As the World is witnessing despicable atrocities in Bucha, Irpin and other cities of Ukraine, it is important to realize how and why have we got to this point, and what is the way forward.
Below is a short thread about our experiences when working on Russia's accountability
We hope this time it will be different for Ukraine and the international community will not fail once again to to ensure accountability for the ongoing heinous crimes.
It took ICC (OTP) 6 years before Prosecutor @KarimKhanQC requested issuing arrest warrants against 3 individuals, none of whom are Russian. There is only mention of 1 Russian Major General who is now deceased.
No accountability for CAH, only war crimes
