I am deeply alarmed that for a 3rd consecutive day scores of women in #Herat continue to be arbitrarily arrested & detained for violating the Taliban’s dress code. It is illegal and unacceptable. The arrests must stop and the women must be released immediately. #Afghanistan
Afghanistan cannot afford to lose future teachers, nurses, doctors, midwives, and social workers, who sustain essential services.
This will be the reality if girls continue to be excluded from education.👇 https://t.co/S8yJPKMJen

While much of the world has forgotten Afghan women under the most misogynistic regime on the planet, activists in Spain stand up for them, wearing blue burqas and chanting “Free Afghan women.”
There is no such thing as “child marriage.” It is rape.
On International Women’s Day we should stop hiding violence against girls behind soft language and start naming it for what it is.
Under the Taliban, Afghan women are denied jobs and education beyond primary school, leaving begging as one of the few ways many can feed their families.
This Women's Day, don't forget the women in Afghanistan. Be their voice!

@YvetteCooperMP Legalizing violence against women is a crime against humanity.
Words are not enough — Afghan women need action.
Our lives cannot wait while the world debates.
Five years have already been stolen.
The harm done in these wasted years cannot simply be undone.
Since August 2021, Afghan women have been denied education, work, and freedom for 1,600+ days. No schools, no jobs, no public spaces, no voice. The world is turning away while women suffer in silence, still, no action. Video—swissinfo_en
“Mohammed started the first shelters for women in Iraq in 2003, protecting them from honor killing and sex-trafficking, a network that expanded to 11 houses in five cities in 2018. Her shelters saved hundreds of vulnerable women over the years.”
Rest in power 🙏
