🔥 GOSA Girls on Fire – Empowering Women, One Shot at a Time! 🔥
📍 Situational Awareness & Introduction to Handgun Course – 31 May 2025
📍 Hosted by Wildman Silverlakes
On a crisp Saturday morning, over 20 brave women joined us for a day of empowerment, education, and transformation at our “Situational Awareness and Introduction to Handgun” course. What made this day even more remarkable? Our oldest first-time shooter was 85 years old—and yes, she shot five different handguns with a smile on her face!
💪 From fear to confidence, this day was about more than just firearms—it was about finding your strength and stepping into your power.
👩🏫 With the support of 12 amazing Girls on Fire volunteers, all of whom generously give up their time to uplift others, we covered:
• Legal considerations of firearm ownership
• Situational awareness (avoidance & readiness)
• Concealment tips specifically for women
• Handgun fundamentals
Then came the hands-on experience at the tactical range. Trainees were introduced to a variety of handguns including:
🔸Glock 43 | Glock 43X | Glock 19 | Glock 45 | Glock 34 (with optic)
Each shooting station was safely supervised by two trained Range Officers, many of whom were newly qualified women, supported by our senior instructors. The energy, emotion, and encouragement on that range were absolutely electric.
💬 Participant Feedback:
"Words cannot explain how in awe I am! You ladies are truly inspiring... You empower us to be better and to protect ourselves."
"I had so much fun and now I have so many questions! What’s next? How can I join again? Can I come to practice more before starting proficiency?"
To all who joined us: Welcome to the Girls on Fire family—a growing cohort of capable, courageous women warriors. We're proud of you!

🕯️ Keshna Schoeman – A Story of Strength, Survival, and Standing Up
🏆 Winner – Christa Swart Fighting Spirit Award 2023
🇿🇦 South Africa
In a country plagued by violent crime, Keshna’s story stands out — not just because of what she survived, but because of what she chose to become after.
Keshna endured one of the most horrific experiences any woman can face. She was the victim of a brutal home invasion where she lost her beloved fiancé and was stabbed six times in the attack. Her injuries were severe, and her loss immeasurable. But despite the unimaginable pain, Keshna fought to survive — physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
✨ And she did more than just survive — she flourished.
Through her trauma, Keshna found a voice.
Through her loss, she discovered purpose.
Through her pain, she reached out to uplift and inspire others.
She now speaks openly and courageously about crime in South Africa and the need for women to be mentally, emotionally, and physically prepared. She refuses to be silenced — and her message is saving lives.
Her strength is not in pretending she wasn't hurt — her strength is in owning her scars and showing others that you can live, love, and lead again.
The Christa Swart Fighting Spirit Award is about recognising women like Keshna — women who might not have chosen the fight, but who refused to stay down.
💥 It’s not about winning — it’s about standing up and fighting back.
💥 It’s about showing others the way forward.
💥 It’s about being the light in someone else’s darkness.
We are beyond proud to call Keshna Schoeman one of our own — a true warrior, and a living example of what it means to rise from the ashes.

Dear Cyril, when your Government and police service can catch murderers as quickly as those who stole money from under your couch cushions, and all Government entities are not in shambles perhaps people will have something good to say.

President Cyril Ramaphosa wants South Africans to be “messengers” and tell the ANC government’s good story instead of “badmouthing” the country.

When will the bloodshed in South Africa stop? Our mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, and children live in fear because of a failed ANC government.

@IanCameron23 Proving that he is an utter failure will keep him securely in his cozy position, with all the bodyguards to protect him, while it is literally a fight for survival for the rest of the South Africans.
It's crucial to raise awareness of women & children brutally killed everyday in SA. If the most vulnerable aren't safe no one is!
BUT.... It's a tragedy that almost 70 men are killed every day and most don't say a word. We need to speak up for the many good men in South Africa!
I have met Mariandra. She is a phenomenal woman who also assisted Keshna with Chad's funeral. The hate and violence need to stop. She is also now helping people to heal after tragedy.
