FMGs' concerns are finally being heard. We raised these issues, engaged in discussions, and now the media is bringing them into the spotlight. The fight continues until every genuine concern of Foreign Medical Graduates is addressed.
Press Release :
Today, AIMSA-FMSW & AFA,FMGs along with Faculties held a peaceful protest at the NBEMS OFFICE & at JANTAR MANTAR regarding the sudden increase in the difficulty level of the FMGE examination and the poor facilities reported at multiple examination centres. Inadequate infrastructure and an unfavorable examination environment caused unnecessary stress and disturbance to candidates during the exam. We believe these factors, along with the unexpected rise in difficulty, contributed to the unusually low FMGE pass percentage this session the lowest seen in several years.
During the meeting, we demanded transparency in the FMGE examination process, accountability for the issues faced by candidates, and a one-time reduction in the qualifying marks considering the exceptional circumstances. We also strongly raised concerns regarding the poor facilities provided at various examination centres.
In response, NBEMS informed us that it will constitute a three-member committee to examine the concerns related to the examination. They also stated that they will coordinate with TCS, review the available evidence, including CCTV footage and reports from examination centres, and take appropriate steps to ensure that such issues do not recur in future FMGE examinations.
Regarding the demand for a one-time reduction in the FMGE qualifying marks, NBEMS stated that such a decision is beyond its authority and can only be taken by the Hon’ble Supreme Court.
We sincerely urge the authorities to ensure that the issues faced during this examination are not repeated in the future. We also reiterate our demand for greater transparency in the FMGE process, including the release of the question paper and answer key, so that candidates can have confidence in the evaluation process and their results.
Considering the extraordinary circumstances of this examination including the sudden increase in difficulty and the inadequate examination facilities we request the concerned authorities to consider a one-time reduction in the FMGE qualifying marks and take responsibility for the shortcomings experienced by candidates.
It is important to note that concerns regarding poor examination centre facilities have been raised previously as well by organizations including FAIMA(@FAIMA_INDIA_) and AIMSA-FMSW (@aimsa_fmsw)& AFA(@official_afa_). On behalf of the FMG community and the associations representing them, we once again request NBEMS to address these issues seriously, improve transparency, and ensure that no future FMGE candidate has to face similar hardships.

The Govt continues to destroy the dreams of middle-class medical aspirants.
By springing major format changes like lengthy, video-based and clinical questions without warning, the NBEMS crashed the pass rate to a shocking 12.78%. Over 31,000 students have failed. Any major changes to the examination format, including the introduction of video-based questions, should be announced well in advance to allow candidates adequate preparation time. Changing the rules of the game on exam day is deliberate elimination, not a fair assessment.
We stand with the Tamil Nadu Medical Students Association. The Ministry of Health must immediately conduct a transparent review and lower the qualifying cutoff for this session!

88% failed in FMGE June 2026.
An exam that was meant to be qualifying in nature has been turned into a highly competitive exam with zero transparency.
If FMGE is expected to be this difficult, then raise the eligibility criteria for studying MBBS abroad. The real filter should be before admission, not after students have spent 5–6 years, lakhs of rupees, and their families’ life savings.
Then it would be better for FMGs to take the NExT exam. Please implement it so that everyone gets a taste of what FMGs are going through.
Why has NExT still not been implemented despite the guidelines being issued three years ago?
Pressure from private medical mafias?
It’s truly unfair and heartbreaking.

Why discrimination towards Foreign Medical Graduates? Why US Canada Newzland Australia UK are exempted from FMGE? When I asked NBE data of the results from these countries before exemption, the NBE replied *No data available*. This shows their's result too were abysmal.@NbeIndia

FMGE aspirants are not here to beg, we are here to demand answers.
Enough of result discrepancies, lack of transparency & mental harassment.
If our future is on the line, NBE must be held accountable.
NBE CHALO. Show up. Speak up. Fight back.

The FMGE June 2026 result is out, and the pass percentage has dropped by nearly 50% compared to the last 3–4 years.
NBE has significantly increased the difficulty level of the examination. Not only was the question paper exceptionally tough, but the examination centres and overall testing conditions were also extremely poor.
This is an injustice to Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs). India needs more doctors, yet even after clearing the FMGE, FMGs are forced to wait for months to begin their internships due to administrative delays.
If the Indian system cannot adequately accommodate FMGs who have successfully cleared the mandatory screening examination, then the government should reconsider its policy on pursuing MBBS abroad. It is unfair to allow students to invest years of their lives and then subject them to endless obstacles at every stage.
The FMGE is meant to be a screening examination, but this time many candidates felt that the paper was even tougher than NEET PG and INI-CET. FMGs deserve a fair examination, proper examination centres, timely internship allotment, and a transparent system not continuous hardship. @NMC_BHARAT@NbeIndia@aimsa_fmsw@FAIMA_INDIA_
FMGE results are out and only 12.4 % could make it this time
But that’s not the real issue , sooner or later they will pass with hard work
The real issue is now agents will contact those who didn’t pass the exam and will manipulate them by providing fake FMG pass certificates to practice in India as Doctors without even clearing FMG exam
Recently such racket was busted in Rajasthan with links all over India and many FMG Doctors lost their career , which means already a huge number of ineligible Doctors without clearing the exam are practising or working in hospitals with potential risk to harm patients .
FMGs should be careful before getting into any such trap or giving money to them as this time Survillance is being done and inform if they know such people doing fraud .
FMGE results declared- only 12.38% have passed. Hope our Central Ministry of health looks into this. Pass percentage needs to be much, much higher.
I had the opportunity of working with FMGE CRRIs, when I was posted at Thiruvallur Medical College,& all of them were excellent in knowledge, efficiency and dedication to pts.
FMGE Drs are our children too. Failing them, year after year consistently is extremely cruel. Hope the NMC, & the Central Health Ministry look into this matter with the urgency & importance it deserves. Futures r at stake.
FMGE is a screening exam — not an experiment. Thread 🧵
#FMGE
No transparency. No clarity. No fairness.
#NBEMS #NMC
One profession. One standard.
#nmc #nbe #healthminister @MoHFW_INDIA@NMC_IND@NbeIndia@PMOIndia
I'm saying this again: If we don't raise our voices now, this will keep happening.
Here's the proof.
Every FMG student, we need your support. Stand together and speak up.

FMGE is a screening test, not a rank exam. Why such sudden changes & unfair evaluation for doctors who put in years of hard work? We pay the highest fees but get lowest value. Requesting a fair 35% passing criteria.

35% for Fairness,Not Favors.
1) We studied. We struggled. We deserve fairness.
2) No surprise patterns. No unfair evaluation.Justice for FMGE aspirants.
