@florian_krammer Prob fine for layers, and turkeys. Broilers are in market at ~6wks. Billions of birds need to vaccinated and the population turns over every 6 weeks. The man power needed to vaccinate 25% would be staggering.
@thijskuiken @EckerleIsabella Years ago cats and tigers were infected in Asia (Thailand?). They were fed infected chickens. Easily infected, amplified, and shed infectious particles.
@sabrinalyli@MartaShocket this has been a common experience for me. Canadian with a Swiss partner. I’m often dismissed or accused of marriage for immigration. It is shocking how tribal this small country is.
I’ll also be posting ads for two phylodynamics postdoc positions shortly. If you are interested in the research of the lab, but, for example, as a Research Assistant, please reach out!
Come work with us! If you hold a PhD in evolutionary biology, infectious disease epidemiology, mathematical modeling, or a related quantitative field, we'd love to hear from you! @CarmolaLudy@justinbahl

Awesome news for OAMD. IFYKYK. @dmaccannell’s leadership was so important in guiding resources to bring US pathogen sequencing online for pandemic response!
Join us in congratulating Duncan MacCannell on his new role as director of @CDCgov’s Office of Advanced Molecular Detection. With his vision and leadership, OAMD will continue to promote capacity, ethical open data, and equity in precision public health. https://t.co/swPj5AjdeR
