@DavidAFrench Love the flagship (AO), and what y'all are doing with the ethos of Dispatch.

@rcollingsworth Some of the concerns I've come across is from Voddie's lack of adhering to these well-stated ethics that you've shared. "Fault Lines" lacked a fair bit of charity and included a fair bit of straw-man arguments, and did so while sort of "blasting" those he disagreed with by name.
Notice this line in David French's article today re. Zelensky: "Because evil often leaves virtue with few good choices, he had no clear path. Mobilize too soon, and you can cripple your economy and perhaps provide pretext for a Russian attack. Mobilize too late, and you’ve... 1/3
@WokePreacherTV This is a pretty uncharitable and poorly considered clip to advocate that Allberry is being "woke". Jesus, Paul, and modern day evangelists like Ray Comfort all start their evangelistic ministries in different places based on who they are speaking to.
@mb65sax@WokePreacherTV@SamAllberry Maybe next?
If you read the gospels, Jesus led with different starting points. So did Paul. It is altogether an uncharitable witch-hunt to suggest that Allberry was wrong in saying we ought to start in Genesis 1. Ray Comfort begins there in his street evangelism frequently.
@JonathanLeeman, I don't know how to send a DM. I tweet about once a year; 2018 and 19 were just sending 1 tweet each year to Doris Burke that she did a good job broadcasting a game. I tried to message you on FB, too... but didn't see that option What is best platform to connect?
In other words, you seem to hold this ecclesiological position such that context/ other values (e.g., evangelistic culture) shouldn’t influence our application of structure. But if Redeemer (rightly?) moved to more services to embody the Biblical posture of the friends w/… 5/
Then in your discussion w/ Mark you gave 2 examples (building burned, Redeemer in 2011) that “contextualized” how to subjectively apply the objective/ definitional/ ontological sense of a biblical church polity. 4/
@JonathanLeeman Thank you, @JonathanLeeman. Ah, yes. That was when you referenced Gaines' "One Church in One Location". So the pending gathering that will resume once this craziness is all over constitutes them being a church/team in the same sense the Wizards are a team with pending games TBD.
@JonathanLeeman, I just finished "One Assembly". Just send me to the right place if you've already addressed.
Based on how the church is ontologically defined in your book, would it be accurate to say that that churches aren't existing right now? And, if not, why not?
Thanks!
@JonathanLeeman Note: I'm not dissenting. I serve as a Pastor of an Acts29 church in Houston & we are printing it for our membership to read. I just wanted to get clarity on if you refrain from using "White Privilege" because of the 3rd plank or if you just use it in the context of the 1st two.
@JonathanLeeman, you have become one of my favorite writers/ thinkers. I'm grateful for your work! I read and re-read your TGC article, "More Than Mere Equality..." as well as your extended work on 9Marks. I have a clarification question for you. What is the best forum to ask?
