@kurt13warner is it me or should a roughing the passer penalty NOT nullify an interception?
I get that it’s a penalty but Dak had already thrown the ball (obviously) so the roughing the passer doesn’t really have anything to do with the interception at that point, no?
@Tjonesonthenba@JonesOnTheNBA That’s why whenever I hear someone refer to a player as a “combo guard” I immediately wonder whether they’re really just an undersized SG
@NBAPerformances The way he runs and jumps reminds me of Shawn Kemp but the way he operates offensively reminds me of Kawhi in terms of how compact his shooting stroke is and how efficiently he moves with the ball
@JoggersAndSatay I believe KD and Peja Stojakovic pulled the ball across their faces too fwiw.
In terms of his follow through, I think he shoots off of his thumb too much at times.
Having said that, I think it’s gotten a little better over time…
@6Hogg6 I think Shaq says it speaking more so to his on court play in terms of how physically dominant he was.
Having said that, he and Jordan are the only players to win 3 straight Finals MVPs
@Sheridanblog I would say early opinions are relevant if the debate is pertaining to that specific time period.
No one is saying T-Mac had a better career than Kobe.
The only claim being made as far as I know is that the Lakers could’ve possibly had similar success with T-Mac from 2001-04
@Sheridanblog IMHO Kobe was viewed similarly to Iverson, Vince Carter, T-Mac and Ray Allen during that period but eventually pulled away from that group with his longevity and leading the Lakers to their successes
@Sheridanblog Statistically speaking, T-Mac was more productive and more efficient than Kobe over that 5 year Playoff run (2001-05).
Hence the debate being had at the time (in addition to the eye test) and then it coming back up when T-Mac and Shaq spoke on it
@Sheridanblog I understand that this is a polarizing conversation but my main point is to speak to how good T-Mac was. Not to try and take anything away from what Kobe did
@Sheridanblog The only other part I’ll push back on is when you spoke to T-Mac’s Effective FG% being atrocious in the Playoffs as his True Shooting % in the Playoffs from 2001-03 was actually better than Kobe’s then and that is still the case if you extend that through the 2005 postseason
