@ZryMiller So my new workflow now is simply - use fable for specs and direction. Astra to take over and build. Fable to review and critque with my inputs, Astra to refine as per input, Fable to certify for production.
@buildwithrajath And you just said - paying for access to the most capable model...with $20 bucks? If you run a business today and you have customers paying you $20 bucks but demands a generous access to your most expensive services, how would you handle it?
@Gelassoldat Your observation is similar to mine. Fable does follow instructions but it infers your intent based on context. Thats what makes it incredible. Astra is a leap, but lacks it. Combine both, you may get great results - i am onto that now.
@sergiosuave23@paradite_ Well not for me. I was on Opus 5 max and I gave up fighting it. It kept going around in circles and identifying issues that were non existent only to realized it made mistakes in thinking those were errors. Scaling down its thinking helps
@omarvvvr Better to tee off between Astra and Fable and not against 5.6 Sol. Astra was meant to be a direct competitor of Fable. IMHO, best to have both :)
@DanDr1s I had this funny experience today when it built a presentation deck for me. It was to spin off a brunch from a master deck made by Claude and the design regressed. Never had it with Claude. Apart from that, Astra seems pretty good.
@SKatalystAI My personal take in my use cases - I still prefer Fable over Astra. Astra is pretty decent but not as perceptive as Fable. My work spans business, strategy, legal and content. Anyways its still day 1.
@paradite_ Thanks. Yea, Opus 5 seems to be a rather strange model. 4.8 is stable but with Opus 5, i ended up 'fighting' with it as it goes around in circles and finding flaws that are not even there and end up tripping it self. Looking forward to 5.1
@pcshipp Apparently it got us all confused. Astra for $20 plan is only available in both Work and Codex. Not on Chat. For Pro users, Chat has Astra powering the Pro thinking toggle.
@paradite_ scale it with the criticality of your work. If you are hitting some blockers or getting stuck with a lower thinking toggle, up it a notch. I have stopped using Opus 5 for now and went full Fable.
@lydiahallie@jmmoser15 Surprisingly, Opus 5 seems to work better at extra for me too. Max just makes it goes wonky. I never had issues with Opus prior to 5 as it has always been my go to main until Opus 5 came out and i shifted to Fable as primary though shorter usage but great outputs.
@lydiahallie Thanks for the reset - i will try this. As my work is mainly on regulatory matters, I had always used extra on both Fable 5 and Fable 5.1. My personal experience is, very minimal adjustments on the output, it draws on my context excellently. Leagues better vs Opus 5 :P
