@HuntingJacob@Collin_Vonk Sweet!! I have NCAA 14 for my 360, but my console stopped working two weeks agoโฆ I want to send it in to fix it and to get it modded for revamped.
I never thought that much about literacy in science. But in my experiences with this class, my content area, and placement, I notice that it is a fundamental part of understanding and learning #edr321
Giving students real world issues to solve problems helps them take ownership of their learning and they see the product of the quality of work, time, and effort they put in. #EDR321
@Bran_Aho I think a mixture of both works. You can push them out of their comfort zone to expose them to something that is out of their choosing and challenges them. But as a student myself, I am certainly more engaged with something that interests me.
A very interesting debate. I have found so far in my unit that my students are performing better on assignments that I give them time to do in class compared to having them complete as homework. #EDT370 https://t.co/T9QZtNElxl
Using technology in the classroom has its benefits, but we need to make sure that we, as teachers, are not overloading our students on the screens. It could have negative effects. #EDT370 https://t.co/aNe8NHPRCw
@MissSchweda That's a really cool thing that your school does! I think it would definitely be beneficial if other schools implemented what yours does. Interesting to see some data on students production before and after doing this reading break.
This reading does not just have to be in an English class. I try and get my students to read as often as we can in Science! #EDT370 https://t.co/GPW2oivcqQ
@Anthony_Rhcp Hey if you have any free time on Wednesday nights, you should come to @GVSU and talk about teaching music. We meet from 6-8:50 in downtown Grand Rapids!!! Please DM me and let me know! #EDR321
"Mastery based learning is no longer impractical. If students need to see an explanation at their own time and pace. We have on-demand video for that, we have adaptive work for extra practice". #EDR321
After analyzing students' work, one can easily get a sense what your students understand and what they don't. The challenge as a teacher is getting them to the level where they all understand it and teach it to each other. #EDR321
