I know it's a circus-type event and I don't expect anything tonight... BUT a late 80s & 90s Mike Tyson fight used to be an EVENT.

You young kids don't know. There was NOTHING like it.

All your dudes would be in one place, amped up, all day. And you'd have that one buddy who was WAY too into it... who'd shadow box through all the undercards and work up a sweat... who would tell you how much you didn't know boxing... who would stand up the whole Tyson fight...

And then shout "Told You!" when Tyson creamed somebody.

But nobody cared because you'd all jump at the same time... "OOOOOHHH!!!!!" when Tyson dropped someone to the canvas...

Then we had the insane asylum-level post-fight interview with Larry Merchant or whoever. And Tyson would say more crazy shit.

Man, what a time to be alive...

I know Netflix is trying to tap into that memory tonight... And it's not for a belt and Paul isn't a real fighter and Tyson is old... But man... That "feel" is still cool, even if it's a tiny fraction of what it once was.

Shout out to vintage Tyson Fight Nights and that one guy we all had at every watch party...

He's probably 51 now with a gut, but I hope you enjoy the fight tonight. Don't give yourself a heart attack.

If I was the commissioner my first act would be to create - The purgatory rule: where a team cannot keep a SUPERSTAR PLAYER for more than 7 losing seasons.

I’d love to see @BronnyJamesJr go play in Europe for a few seasons.

Hear me out: He would be expanding the family brand. He could continue to work on his game. Also he could escape the shadow of his father, that has to add alot of pressure.

This would allow him to play free.
