@AndyGlockner The thing people always miss on this argument as well is that if the US youth athletics infrastructure was centered around footie (or rugby, or handball, or cricket) then the US would dominate because the training and understanding would be there too.
15 teams would be below the floor (half the league) while only 6 teams would be above the cap…
This is the problem. The low market teams—largely in the upper Midwest—want to cry poor and find ways to just not spend. The OWNERS aren’t organized.
This life long fan does not at all support a cap. Owners of teams in some of the largest media markets in North America need to spend money on their teams to make them competitive or they need to just sell the team.
@mlbbowman Braves need to just go ahead and make Fuentes a full time reliever this year. It’s hard enough having to use the kid gloves on Lopez and Holmes. Just go ahead and commit to increasing Fuentes usage as a leverage option and move Bummer to long relief.
TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE is coming to Georgia and it's on this date...but not for anther 52 years :)
I guess I won't be here for that one, but I hope my daughters enjoy it!
@gvedak I felt like I was really high on him last year and I was expecting big things this year but goodness not this.
I love his swing. And the almost 12% walk rate too.
@MrSammyJames It just feels like this group with this manager have done what they are going to do. Time to move on from the manager and quite a few players.
@1966MJG For a guy I’ve enjoyed watching play much of the last two seasons after this past month or so Im fine if Andersen never plays again for Fulham.
@TaylorTwellman Part of this too is the way Inside the NBA has given Charles a hard time for never winning a ring. Some of the kids I used to coach thought guys like Barkley and Shaq were just funny guys and know NOTHING about how good they were. NBA sucks at talking about their history.
@1966MJG This isn’t a trend that needs to be stats heavy because it’s a trend that everyone feels. Away at teams that are playing Champions League we don’t just lose, we get embarrassed. And it’s been the case for as long as I can remember.
@NekiasNBA@BTRowland@YourManDevine I mean when Dyson drives and kicks out to Jalen or Nickel or CJ and they just run out good looks on 3’s not sure what else he is supposed to do.
@AndyGlockner Olympic sports like running, cycling, and swimming probably have the biggest gap in talent between what a layperson thinks is going on and what is actually going on.
Like even the 100m speed for someone like Sawe and Kejelcha is probably faster than most people.
@DOBrienATL It’s a testament to Simmons defense that in 2017 when he had a 102 OPS+ he was an 8 WAR player on BR.
Just being an average hitter put him at an MVP level by WAR.
I only remember Ozzie Smith in the 90’s but AS is the best I’ve ever seen.
@GrahamCoffeyDC@JoshPateCFB I flat out don’t watch CFB anymore. On one hand part of that is cause Auburn sucks. But on the other hand it’s because the entire model now is just minor league NFL…and why would I dedicate time and money to minor league NFL?
@DOBrienATL One of his best which really says a lot.
I’m always amazed at the output these guys had back in the day and the quality of what they were putting out.
@PitchingNinja I saw an interview with Smoltz one time where he said he, Maddux, and Glavine would spend hours trying to figure out how to do this. Really is an amazing pitch.
@AndyGlockner If I remember right Jay Buhner robbed one at Fenway by the bullpen once and the ump told him that he had to come back over the fence before he took the ball out of his glove or something or else it was a home run.
Always been weird rule though.
@TaylorTwellman Maybe MP being too smart by half? Knows when the games matter we are going to switch back to something logical but for now just trying to confuse everyone.
But like I said too smart or too cute maybe. I’d rather focus on hammering out what works.
