@ColinDobe874@HockeyPatrol Yes. And Vancouver gets a negative asset, two maybe 3rd liners, and a mid to late first. What a great idea.
You’d have to attach the first to Riley to get anyone to take him. We’re rebuilding so the cap isn’t a problem for us. We can eat the Petey contract easily.
@AGNT009@NFL_DovKleiman People want to be POTUS for the power. Not the money. Not many people can manipulate markets and the fates of entire countries, but the POTUS can.
Even with McDavid leaving the Oilers, Toronto wouldn’t have been a top location because they’d likely be in a retool/rebuild and not a cup contender. Add McKenna to Matthews, Nylander, Knies, etc, and you’re looking at a team that could entice him for a cup shot. Love it…
@ligh64283@_j_a_k_e_d Since 2019 there have only been a few D drafted in the top 3: Power, Nemec, Levshunov, and Shaefer. Only one of them is any good and he was picked 1OA. 3rd this year is equivalent to 6th with how all of this is looking since Verhoeff, Reid, and Carels are rated the same.
@ligh64283@_j_a_k_e_d Let’s wait before coming to that conclusion. Misa is still projected to be an elite 1C calibre player. Malholtra is prjected to be a middle 6 centre. McKenna and Stenberg are both 1st line wingers. I don’t really think the Sharks lost the 2025 draft.
@Canuckjinn@AllLoveCoco@DR_Hugh_Mungus@noahstrang_ Stenberg is the real lucky one here honestly. He’ll get picked right between two of the worst run teams in the league and join a team of studs with a competent GM and a generational player.
@Canuckjinn@AllLoveCoco@DR_Hugh_Mungus@noahstrang_ There would’ve been a chance if we got McKenna or Stenberg. Dare I say second last? But whoever we pick won’t be playing in the NHL next year. Not with such a low pick.
@AllLoveCoco@Canuckjinn@DR_Hugh_Mungus@noahstrang_ It was a joke. We’re definitely going to be last next year too and get 3rd OA next year as well. It’s just so sad seeing how bad we are and not even getting a first line/first pairing guy from the draft. This team is too cursed for me.
@DTSB_98@AustonWhite3 A 40+ point middle 6 winger being paid 5.5 mil in a rising cap isn’t a negative asset. His value is closer to a 2nd + Mid round pick.
The Canucks are sitting on a boat load of cap space, there is literally no need to move him, let alone for Karlsson who is likely worth the same.
