Big congrats to my mastering client @yoke_lore for going gold on their release! Absolutely beautiful record and very well deserved. Shout out to @lohariel for his awesome production work on this. Truly gorgeous sounds.
@danheld The issue is that’s it’s too expensive relative to its use value. Which is basically nonexistent. It is now broken and does not work as a digital currency. And you can’t do cool things like smart contracts with it either. It’s basically useless. Hard pass.
@danheld@carnivorousbite This is probably the silliest comment in this entire thread. Gold is incredibly important for interplanetary space travel. It’s absolutely necessary for precision electronics & heat shielding in Aerospace applications. Gold is infinitely MORE necessary for space travel than BTC.
@danheld@Alien_LifeStyle @Th3s0urTruth No, other metals cannot have the same properties as gold. Other cryptos can indeed have the same properties as Bitcoin. In fact, they can have even better properties. Which isn’t hard, because BTC is effectively broken as a currency now and has been for years.
@danheld @Th3s0urTruth This is just silly & people need to stop saying it. A world in which asteroid mining of gold is cheap, due to incredible advances in technology, is a world in which every single other commodity is even dramatically cheaper still. Meaning: gold still holds its relative value.
As much as people like the Pixies, they are still one of the most underrated bands of the 20th century. They are to the 90s what the Kinks were to the 60s. https://t.co/nX6xp2vSfw
