I like this visualisation from @thethingsindust for demonstrating the gain &loss components of an RF transmission. The up/down peaks highlight nicely the components that add gain or cause loss, & it shows how signal starts as a positive number but quickly falls into negative dB.

@WiFiWizardOfOz @ArubaNetworks @Cisco Looks like there’s only 1 radio on on the Aruba and pretty sure the Cisco antenna is uni-band so I’m guessing 2.4 GHz on the Cisco and 5 GHz on the Aruba.
