Lightning at night over India.

When trying to capture lighting in an image I use burst mode and hope lighting strikes in the frame. I was super happy when this lightning strike ended up in the middle of the frame. No crop needed.

We don't get good things because we don't look India as India. We look:

- Hindu vs Muslims
- Reservation vs anti-reservation
- Political party X vs Y

Our focus is deeply divided now. We can't take criticism (hence no accountability for anyone)

In all this: Merit dies a slow death.

Solution: encourage others to become more rational in their thinking. Or go where more rational thinking is encouraged.

Parking at a turn :(

@blrcitytraffic - please consider bringing out a awareness / education series on good driving etiquette.

Things like:

- give way to pedestrians
- do not park at a turn
- look before you make a turn
- do not use brights at night, only when necessary
- do not honk unnecessarily
- following minor / bumper accidents, pull over to the side immediately (do not stop in the middle & argue)
- do not park in the bus stops - Autos especially

Though it all may seem minor, they significantly affect traffic movements and cause issues.

Guess the price of Milk: 2020 vs 2024.

Do the same exercise for Egg, Dal, Makhana etc.
And, honestly write your response.

For example: depending on where you live, you might say that Egg went from 4Rs to 6Rs. That's a 50% price rise in eggs.

But, India's official inflation is 5.6%

Even if you grow your salary by 20%, but if the inflation jumps by 50%, you will be net-net poorer.

This seems like such a simple thing to understand, but most people don't get it. Or end up debating politics around it. This is not politics; this is finance.

There are three types of taxes you pay:

[1] Direct (eg. Personal Income tax).
[2] Indirect (eg. GST).
[3] Invisible tax (eg. Inflation).

Invisible tax is difficult to observe & comprehend.

Unfortunately, people who get impacted by inflation the most, understand inflation the least.
