Weak men divide women into good and bad

"If I do good for a good woman, it'll end well"

"If I do good for a bad woman, it'll end badly"

The snag here is they have no reliable way of identifying which women are "good" and which are "bad" beforehand, so they resolve that epistemic problem with a post hoc rationalisation:

"If I do good for a woman and it turns out good, she is by that fact itself, good"

"If I do good good for a woman and it turns out bad, she is ipso facto, bad"

It is a fool proof rationalisation because every outcome becomes the evidence. Go figure😂

But foolproof only to the man making it, of course.

They externalise all outcomes to absolve themselves of responsibility as it is much easier to just blame women than it is to self examine to see whether they ignored red flags, failed to set and enforce boundaries, tolerated bad behaviour, invested too much or exercised poor judgement.

They are 'good' men
They are kind men
They have eMpAtHy
and that should be enough

Where the feedback disagrees, the easy explanation is that they did good to a bad woman, never that they made a series of poor decisions over a long period of time.
