The Government has spent around £84 million administering the Vaccine Damage Payment Scheme, yet families such as the Cross family continue to describe long and difficult experiences seeking recognition and justice following a vaccine-related death.

This contrast between the level of administrative spending and the lived experience of bereaved families and those injured raises ongoing questions about why the Government is delaying reform to a scheme that is inefficient, inadequate and shows little compassion to those harmed.

The Covid Inquiry has now confirmed what we have been saying for years.

Vaccine injury and bereavement are real.
The suffering is real.
And the Government has a responsibility to act.

The report is clear:

A small minority were seriously injured or lost their lives following vaccination.
And when people are asked to be vaccinated to protect others, there must be proper support for those harmed.

That is not opinion.
That is now on official record.

But here’s the truth they don’t fully confront:

We are acknowledged…
yet still minimised.

Described as a “small minority”
while families are left fighting for recognition, support and justice.

The Inquiry confirms the system meant to support us
—the Vaccine Damage Payment Scheme—
is not good enough and requires reform.

So the question is no longer if change is needed.

It is:

👉 When will the Government act?
👉 How long will families be left waiting?
👉 And will those already harmed be properly included?

This is the moment.

The current Vaccine Damage Payment Scheme (VDPS) is widely seen as inadequate and inefficient—offering too little, too late, to too few people. With the UK Covid Inquiry set to publish its Module 4 report on Vaccines and Therapeutics on Thursday 16 April, the need for meaningful reform is long overdue.

We hope the Inquiry will recognise what many already understand: the scheme, in its current form, is not fit for purpose and requires urgent improvement.

Three weeks from today, (16th April),the UK @covidinquiryuk will publish its Module 4 report on vaccines and therapeutics — a pivotal moment for those whose lives have been changed forever.

For too long, vaccine injured people and bereaved families have felt overlooked. This report must not only acknowledge their experiences, but deliver clear, meaningful recommendations to ensure they are properly recognised, supported, and treated with fairness and dignity.

What matters most is what comes next. We urge the government to act swiftly and decisively on the findings — not to delay, deflect, or diminish them.

Behind every statistic is a person, a family, and a story that deserves to be heard.
