#1 Goal is Strength & Conditioning is to keep athletes healthy:
✅ Reduce injury rates
✅ Feeling good, mobile
✅ Fresh on game day
Are those things happening?
If so, you’re running a good program
@georgiadeptofed So disappointing. Jeans. Really. so dumb. Let me wear golf shorts. Looks nicer, professional... jeans are so two decades ago. Thanks but no thanks... @educator4ever36 and @CoachRCrow
@ronsterd89 I think they should be a tool to use in the classroom. They should not be checked out to every student and the students have them in every class every second. @educator4ever36@FixingEducation
@TolentinoTeach 100% spot in... or they just don't want to be in the class. But teachers are the bad guys because we know why they really want to leave @educator4ever36
@teachthemx3 Correct... and when they do get enforced, students become argumentative... have an answer as to why they didn't or couldn't or shouldn't follow the rule(s). Then they just get rude! @FixingEducation@educator4ever36
@Coach_TWebb You would think that, but leadership in schools is this area is not great. There is also "politics " and wanting to "support" sport coaches who leadership thinks are valuable. Eventually is bad for the kids, culture, and the other sport coaches. @CoachRCrow
@_Hillstone always seats people later than their reservation... but if you arrive late... oh boy you might lose your res. Send text reminders to make sure you are still planning to dine... and they took the best item off the menu a while back... bring back the Hawaiian Ribeye!
It’s always fascinated me that college and professional sports organizations with the best coaches in the world trust qualified S&C coaches to handle performance.
But at the high school level, coaches with no background at all often wear that hat.
Put the kids first before ego.
@Toohey_sp That, and most in leadership, don't value a highly qualified S&C professional. They think anyone with a PE cert or is the sport coach can do it.
Due to the current climate in high school sports and school settings, the majority of athletes will graduate having never worked with a truly qualified and capable strength and conditioning coach.
Private skill trainers who know their high school kids are training six days a week with their high school program and push them to come do extra skill sessions at night/after Saturday games/on Sundays are negligent.
It’s no surprise how injured / beat up and physically underdeveloped our kids are.
