Gang rapes is so widespread in #India that they been likened to mass shootings in America. They happen regularly, spark outrage but are soon forgotten until the next one comes along!

That is what happened to 8-year-old #Muslim girl, Asifa Bano…

She was held captive in a Hindu temple in Kathua in Jammu and Kashmir for a week. She was drugged and brutally gang-raped to the extent her uterus was damaged. They brutally killed her and dumped her body in a ditch.

What was their aim? To terrorise a Muslim community and force them out of the village.

On 10 June 2019, Sanji Ram (Temple priest), Deepak Khajuria (police officer) and Parvesh Kumar (police officer) were sentenced to life imprisonment of 25 years.

Tilak Raj (Head constable), Anand Dutta and Surender Verma were sentenced to five years in jail for destroying evidence.

At the time, Hindutva groups and politicians HELD RALLIES demanding the release of the RAPISTS.
