The cracker note was just in the middle of all of the other disgusting things he has said, and I didn't feel like cutting and pasting today. Marxism defines the middle class differently. You’re using a Marxist definition of working class, not the conventional socioeconomic definition.
Marxism: Class is primarily about your relationship to labor and ownership—not how much money you make.
Conventional U.S. usage: Income, wealth, occupation, and economic security matter. A multimillionaire earning millions annually would ordinarily be considered affluent/upper-income, not middle or working class.
And I didn’t say opposing genocide requires condoning rape. Both can be condemned simultaneously. Piker’s actual words were: “It doesn’t matter if [expletive] rapes happened on October 7th.” He says he meant that the rapes wouldn’t justify Israel’s subsequent actions—not that rape itself doesn’t matter. That’s important context.
Finally, calling Zionism—a political/national ideology—a “mental illness” is an inflammatory insult, not a factual description or medical diagnosis. Piker has in fact used that characterization.
You should probably stop listening to this guy and crack book to learn something. Also, you're right cracker isn offensive, to me.
At both the federal and state levels, people are quick to blame the federal government. California is a perfect example: it has some of the highest taxes in the country, yet also carries significant debt per capita. It’s not just about how much money a government takes in—it’s about how effectively that money is managed and spent.
@tigerbalmaddict@hasanthehun Not surprised he would use the Marxist definition of “working class,” but here in the United States we are a capitalist country, and he is not considered working class. As to the original point:
Where was the call for getting rid of ICE when the ACLU was all over Obama for not giving due process to undocumented immigrants?!? Selective outrage is the only thing Democrats are good at.
They have already started the process with the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact (NPVIC). It's a workaround that uses the popular vote count without eliminating the Electoral College; 18 blue states, along with D.C., have already signed on. The kicker is that each state's electoral votes would go to whoever wins the popular vote, even if they don't win the state. We need to stop this!
The FBI framed a sitting US President for treason, dropped an investigation into Eric Swalwell for having an illicit affair with a Chinese spy, planted fake stories with the media and FISA court, and forced Big Tech to censor critics to influence the 2020 election.
And some people still don't think the unelected Deep State is real?
