●A public allegation against the revered Digambar Jain Sadhu tradition by @Manekagandhibjp
without credible evidence of killing 15 lakh peacocks for their feathers is deeply irresponsible and unacceptable .
A legal notice was sent to her about which she surprisingly said this 🔽

■She claims that the legal sale of peacock feathers in India exists primarily because Digambar Jain monks use pichhis.
■She says " Wanting peacock feather peechis is just greed and Laalach and Hawas. If the monk can give up everything including clothes why should they want the feathers of dead birds around them"
■She contends that the use of pichhis is not an essential religious requirement but merely a later custom.
■She also says she considers herself sympathetic to Jainism and believes ending this practice would correct what she views as a mistake.

Few of our questions deserve answers too
1:- Where is the evidence that Digambar Jain monks procure feathers from killed peacocks rather than naturally shed feathers?
2:- Which government agency has officially concluded that the Jain pichhi tradition is responsible for mass peacock killings?
3:- If illegal poaching exists, shouldn't the criminals be punished instead of blaming an entire religion built on Ahimsa?
Digambar Jain monks have renounced worldly possessions and dedicate their lives to non-violence living a life which bothers the least.
