1 tsp sugar (for grins)
1 C buttermilk
1/2 C butter grated/cubed very cold
stir 14 times. Empty on floured surface. PAT out, don't roll. don't twist biscuit cutter/straight down
450 degrees 12-13 min.

Once a bustling community and county surrounded on 3 sides by water; later, two railroads traveled through the town. Interstate(s) dried it up.
