Happy to see the investment and support for sports by our #DravidianModel Government bearing fruit at the 20th Asian Games being held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.

A big round of applause to Tamil Nadu’s super-talented athlete, Vidya Ramaraj, who has set a new record by clocking 54.75 seconds in the women’s 400m hurdles.

Recognising her talent, our Dravidian Model Government ensured that Vidya received the necessary support under the ELITE category as well as assistance from the HCI.

Coming from a humble background, Vidya has emerged as an inspiration to millions.

I also congratulate all our Tamil Nadu athletes Abinaya, Vishal, Rajesh Ramesh, Abhay Singh, Josna Chinnappa, Velavan Senthilkumar, Baranica, Hariharan and Kamalini for winning medals for India at the Asian Games and making Tamil Nadu proud.

Efforts such as financial assistance through various schemes including TNCF, and the provision of government jobs to 300 athletes under the 3% sports reservation have played a significant role in helping our sportspersons achieve these heights.

I hope the current government will continue to extend such support to our athletes, enabling them to achieve even greater success.

A small lesson on how FDI actually works.

Tamil Nadu receiving $5.95 billion in FDI during Apr–Jun 2026 the highest among Indian states is good news.

But before TVK claims the number as its achievement, one rather important fact:

₹39,620 crore (~$4.4bn) came from MUFG’s investment in Shriram Finance which is roughly three-fourths of the entire quarterly inflow came via a deal announced on 19 Dec 2025 : )

CCI approval: 25 Mar 2026
Investment completed: 8 Apr 2026

That’s how FDI works. The quarter records when capital flows in, not when the investment journey began. Large investments are often the outcome of work stretching across several quarters or years. In this case, via the hardwork of the #DravdianModel Govt under #CMMKStalin.

Even the @businessline article attributes Tamil Nadu’s performance to “structural momentum” built over the “last few years.”

So instead of the victory lap, publish the company-wise breakup of the $5.95bn and the dates those investments were originally committed.

Then the attribution will speak for itself.
